When it comes to the Mopar rumor mill, some claims seem far more likely than others. For example, most car enthusiasts can agree that Dodge is likely going to return the Hemi V8 to Charger models in the near future. With the recent shifts in the company’s focus and changes in government regulations, it doesn’t seem like a reach. On the other hand, whispers of the ‘Cuda making a comeback, which have been commonplace for a while, sound more like wishful thinking than reality. At least until a notorious Mopar super sleuth uncovered a trademark filing that may tell a different story. Stellantis Files To Renew ‘Cuda Name That said, one of Butter’s most recent uploads explores the fact that Mopar's mother company just filed to renew its trademark on the ‘Cuda name in January of this year. Butter has championed this car’s revival for some time, predicting that it will likely make a comeback. This most recent development seems to indicate he’s been on the right track.Hank O'Hop/HotCarsTo be completely fair, a trademark renewal on a name is by no means confirmation that a new model is coming. There are plenty of other reasons an automaker would do this. Though it does align with some past hints that suggest a ‘Cuda is on the way.As Butter mentions in the video, Dodge launched the Charger portal with some peculiar Easter Eggs in plain sight last year. Among them was a logo of a Barracuda on the wall. Considering that Stellantis specifically filed for a Class 12 Trademark that allows it to use the name on a car, things are looking very promising for muscle car fans. ‘Cuda Comeback Seems Eminent MecumAgain, all of this is pure speculation, and nothing confirms anything. It sure makes a lot of sense, though. Given Antonio Fillosa’s aim to bring American brands to their former glory, along with reinstating Tim Kuniskis’s power over said market, alongsideall of the cryptic hints which we all know Mopar loves, a new ‘Cuda is shaping up to be something to bet on. Let’s just hope it comes back as a standalone model to ride alongside the Charger, kickstarting a bold new era for muscle cars.
