The Denza Z9 GT Chopard Edition is infused with gold accents, rare gemstones, and BYD’s new Flash Charging system, enabling it to recharge as quickly as refueling. Meet the Denza Z9 GT Chopard Edition BYD teamed up with renowned Swiss luxury brand Chopard for the exclusive one-off Denza Z9 GT Chopard Edition model. The tailor-made vehicle was showcased at a black-tie event during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in France and was donated to raise funds for AIDS Research. “The DENZA Chopard tailor-made Z9GT is the perfect example of how the finest technology becomes natural, almost invisible – but more than that, it shows how a refined house of luxury can take the finest details and raise them to another level altogether,” BYD’s executive vice president, Stella Li, said during the event. To top it off, it includes a 20-speaker theater-grade sound system from the French specialist Deviat and “His and Hers” 18-carat rose-gold Chopard watches. With the same tri-motor setup as the standard Z9 GT, the one-off model delivers over 1,150 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under three seconds. Denza Z9 GT Chopard Edition (Source: BYD) After unveiling the new Z9 GT in March, Denza claimed it was “the world’s longest pure electric driving range vehicle,” offering a CLTC range of 1,036 km (621 miles) on a single charge. The new luxury EV is among the first vehicles with BYD’s new Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging system, which allows it to recharge in as little as 5 minutes. In just five minutes, the Denza Z9 GT EV can recharge from 10% to 70%. To go from 10% to 97% it takes just nine minutes. Even at temperatures as low as -30°C, the battery can be charged from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes. Denza announced the one-off Chopard Edition model sold for a whopping 5.55 million RMB ($815,000), claiming it was “the highest price ever paid for a Chinese luxury brand vehicle.” While the new Denza Z9 GT is available from just 269,800 yuan ($39,300), it costs about three times as much in Europe. BYD opened orders in Germany and France last month, starting at €115,000 ($134,500), including VAT. While it may seem pricey compared to $40,000 in China, it’s still cheaper than the Porsche Panamera. BYD recruited Daniel Craig, known for his 15-year run as James Bond, to launch the new luxury EV in Europe. The Z9 GT will spearhead BYD’s push to gain more market share in Europe, introducing its breakthrough blade batteries and Flash charging tech. Li said the Denza Z9 GT is the perfect choice to introduce the principle of ‘Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3’ to the world, as we start our global rollout of FLASH Charging in Europe.” Stay up to date with the latest content by subscribing to Electrek on Google News.
