On May 26, BYD officially launched the 2026 Sealion 06 DM-i, offering four variants with official prices ranging from RMB 129,900 to RMB 159,900 ($19,110–$23,530). The entry-level model sees a price cut of RMB 10,000 ($1,470) compared with the 2025 version. The latest update suggests BYD’s focus is no longer limited to range and fuel efficiency. Instead, the company is increasingly pushing advanced assisted-driving systems, chassis control technologies and premium comfort features into the RMB 150,000 ($22,070) market segment. Retaining BYD’s family design cues, the 2026 Seal 06 DM-i introduces the new Luminous Silver exterior and Twilight Blue interior colour options. 2026 Seal 06 DM-i’s added exterior and interior colour options Comfort-oriented upgrades include front-seat memory, front-seat massage functions and an electrically adjustable passenger-side leg rest. The cabin also adds a new intelligent fragrance system. The powertrain represents one of the core highlights of the update. The 2026 Sealion 06 DM-i adopts BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology with a front-mounted front-wheel-drive layout, while motor output has been increased to 218 horsepower. For battery and range, the vehicle uses a 38 kWh lithium iron phosphate Blade Battery pack, delivering a maximum CLTC pure-electric range of 310 km. Benefiting from the efficiency improvements of the fifth-generation DM system, the vehicle records fuel consumption of around 3.5 liters per 100 km under NEDC conditions in charge-depleted mode, while combined range reaches up to 1,845 km with a full tank and full battery. BYD God’s Eye B – LiDAR Assisted Driving Edition” (DiPilot 300) On the intelligent driving side, the new Sealion 06 DM-i offers the optional “God’s Eye B – LiDAR Assisted Driving Edition” (DiPilot 300) package priced at RMB 12,000 ($1,765). The system is equipped with LiDAR and supports features including CNOA, HNOA, traffic-light recognition and roundabout navigation functions. At the same time, the vehicle adopts the advanced DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit system, featuring a 15.6-inch floating rotating central touchscreen paired with a redesigned UI and deeply customized Amap navigation integration. On the chassis side, all variants of the 2026 Sealion 06 DM-i come standard with BYD’s DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system and newly added road-preview capability. BYD’s DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system The system can proactively identify abnormal road conditions such as manhole covers and speed bumps, automatically adjusting suspension damping in advance. In addition, the new model introduces an anti-motion sickness mode and a high-speed tire blowout stabilization system (TSC). According to BYD, the latter can maintain vehicle stability during a tire blowout at speeds of up to 140 km/h. Notably, BYD is scheduled to hold a new intelligent technology strategy event on May 28, just two days after the Sealion 06 DM-i launch. The upcoming event marks BYD’s second major technology-focused launch this year, following the release of its second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology in March.
