With the march of electrification continuing on, more and more sporty coupes are showing up that use hybrid power in some way or another. Many of these sports cars, supercars and luxurious grand tourers sit at or near the top of the new car market, and are more powerful and advanced than anything that has come before them. While it means we're seeing less crazy engines in these cars than we once did, the trade-off is more than worth it if you want a proper performance monster! The majority of these cars are expensive, high-performance machines. But, one of them is relatively affordable! It's also a reboot of an old legend that's always been underrated. Honda Prelude MSRP: $42,000-$43,195 HondaThe 2026 Honda Prelude is the cheapest car on this list. It's also by far the most controversial. Enthusiasts have slammed the Prelude reboot for not being fun or sporty enough. Those criticisms do miss the point of the Prelude, though. Honda has designed it to be an easy to drive grand tourer with great fuel economy. That's something the Prelude does extremely well. In fact, it's so comfortable and easy to drive, that you could genuinely use it as your daily driver if you wanted! Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray MSRP: $108,600-$122,045 Via: ChevroletThe Corvette E-Ray was the first hybrid Corvette ever when it was launched a couple of years ago. It's also still one of the standout options in the C8 Corvette's range. It has the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that's used in the base model Stingray, hooked up to an electric motor. That gives the E-Ray 655 hp and 595 lb-ft of torque, good enough for a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph. That's not the limit of how fast these cars can go, either. There are a couple of companies out there who will spice up your E-Ray in the same way they'll spice up the Stingray. The same crazy twin-turbo upgrade that Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) offers for the Stingray can also be done in the E-Ray. Doing this upgrade on the E-Ray produces as much as 1,564 hp, according to SVE! Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Coupe MSRP: $164,900-$166,895 Claire-Kaoru Sakai, Ayesh Seneviratne / HotCarsThe first of three 911 variants here, the Carrera GTS Coupe is the cheapest hybrid 911. Instead of a typical hybrid system like several of the other cars on this list use, the 911 Turbo S has an electric turbocharger. This means that an electric motor helps the turbos spool up, boosting power and reducing the amount of mechanical parts needed for the turbo to function properly. It also helps it to produce 534 hp and 449 lb-ft of torque, giving it a 0-60 time of just 2.9 seconds! Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe MSRP: $189,300 Claire-Kaoru Sakai, Ayesh Seneviratne / HotCarsThe second 911 variant here, the 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe is pretty much exactly the same as the regular Carrera GTS Coupe. The only difference is that it's all-wheel drive, instead of rear-wheel drive. While driving purists would prefer the rear-wheel drive of the cheaper GTS, the 4 GTS is definitely more usable and more accessible to the average driver. Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Coupe MSRP: $194,900-$203,450 Via: Mercedes-BenzThe Mercedes-AMG GT has been a stalwart of Mercedes-Benz's high-performance line-up since it was first introduced. It's only gotten better since then, too, and part of the reason why is the introduction of an incredibly powerful hybrid model. The GT63 S E Performance Coupe has a plug-in hybrid powertrain that's based on technology developed by Mercedes's Formula 1 program. This means it's got over 800 hp, the highest torque of any car on this list (1,047 lb-ft), and a 0-60 time of just 2.7 seconds. It can also almost hit 200 mph. Those are genuinely supercar-rivalling statistics, in a car that in some ways is more of a grand tourer! McLaren Artura Coupe MSRP: $233,000-$242,400 McLarenThe McLaren Artura can get forgotten in the supercar world. If people do know about it, it'll likely be because it was the centerpiece of an episode of the hit TV show Emily in Paris. But, the Artura shouldn't be counted out, as it's genuinely very impressive! The successor to the 570S, the Artura ditched the twin-turbocharged V8 for a twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid. While that may not sound as impressive as the old 570S's powertrain, it's actually quite a bit more powerful. Thanks to its near-700 hp output, the Artura Coupe is able to go from 0-60 mph in around 3 seconds and onto a limited top speed of 205 mph. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Coupe MSRP: $207,100-$218,100 ChevroletRevealed last year after years of rumours, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X is the most powerful production Corvette ever made. That's thanks to the 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged flat-plane V8 from the Corvette ZR1 being combined with the electric motor from the E-Ray. Not only does the motor give this absolute monster even more power than the ZR1 (1,250 hp and 973 lb-ft of torque), but it also makes the ZR1X all-wheel drive like the E-Ray. The result of all of that is a 0-60 time of just 1.67 seconds, and a top speed of 233 mph in low-drag configuration. That has to make it one of the most impressive hybrid coupes on the market! Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe MSRP: $270,300 PorscheThe final of the three Porsche 911 variants on this list, the latest iteration of the 911 Turbo S Coupe embraces hybrid power for the first time. The result of this is a car with over 700 hp, a 0-60 time of just 2.4 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Those are some of the most impressive numbers ever achieved by a Porsche 911 variant! All that power is still relatively accessible, though, thanks to having all-wheel drive like the Carrera 4 GTS. Bentley Continental GT MSRP: $285,000-$309,925 The Bentley Continental GT has always been a performance monster. The latest version of it is no different. Thanks to its 670 hp V8 hybrid powertrain, it can go from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 168 mph. It's also got all-wheel drive, meaning that all that power is easily accessible. Plus, with all the Bentley luxury you'd expect, this car can cross continents with ease. The only real snag is that its top speed is slower than older base model Continental GTs. But, the big power more than makes up for it! Bentley Continental GT Speed MSRP: $306,250-$395,160 BentleyThe most expensive car on this list, the 2026 Bentley Continental GT Speed is the pinnacle of what a luxury grand tourer can be in today's market. The old W12 may be gone, but the hybrid V8 powertrain in its place (a more powerful version of the same powertrain from the base Continental GT) easily trumps anything the W12 could achieve on power. The GT Speed can get you from 0-60 mph in a supercar-rivalling 3.1 seconds, and go as fast as 208 mph. That would be impressive enough on its own, but the fact that it can achieve that with supreme comfort and luxury is even more incredible!Sources: Bentley, Chevrolet, Honda, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Specialty Vehicle Engineering
