Best Coupe SUVs for 2025 | Top Coupe Crossovers | CarBuzz
If you thought crossovers and SUVs were a trend, think again. Not only is the high-riding body style here to stay, but it’s also available in coupe SUV style - and these are gaining popularity for their slick looks, sporty attitude, and uniqueness. And it’s not just expensive luxury models that have adopted the look - affordable daily drivers now also sport a sloping roofline. Here is a list of coupe SUVs available for 2025 in the USA.
Vehicles are assigned a BuzzScore in relation to their direct segment competitors, and as such, vehicles in this list, while similarly scored, do not necessarily compete directly against one another. Audi RS Q8

2025 Audi RS Q8
The 2025 Audi RS Q8 is a ferocious beast, and with an impressive 8.4 out of 10 BuzzScore, it also ranks as our best SUV coupe of 2025 so far. It's not hard to see why, as with a 631 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood, an immaculately trimmed cabin, and a price point which undercuts some more exclusive rivals by a considerable margin, the RS Q8's appeal is really quite obvious. The RS Q8, and the rest of the Q8 family, are all strict five-seaters, choosing instead to prioritize esthetics and passenger comfort over seat capacity – for those that require a third row, the SQ7 is Audi's most closely matched offering.
Getting stuck into back roads, and it seems absurd that a big crossover can chew up and spit out corners with such confidence. A supercar may be able to lay down more performance, but like a supercar, the RS Q8 needs to be taken to a track to be fully exploited. After a while, calling the RS Q8 an SUV or crossover seems nonsensical, and we started thinking of it more like a massively oversized hot hatchback with a dose of hyperspeed imbued in its soul.

Audi SQ8

2025 Audi SQ8
While it doesn't have the grunt to match its RS sibling, the 500-horsepower 2025 Audi SQ8 is still no slouch, and ranks just below the flagship model in this list of SUV coupes. The main attraction to this over the RS model would be the huge saving of $38,600 – an expense that would surely prove difficult to justify, seeing as the SQ8 is still mightily quick, wonderfully trimmed and equipped, plus just as handsome to look at, thanks to the recently refreshed fascia and sloping roofline.
Few, if any, can match the SQ8 in this currently hotly contested segment; the SQ8 is roomier and faster to 60 mph than the more powerful X6 M60, far quicker than the AMG GLE 53 Coupe, and notably cheaper and more spacious than the Cayenne S Coupe.
While the SQ8 doesn't shove so hard that the front lifts like the RS Q8, it shoves hard off the line to not be embarrassed by its close kin, the much more expensive and outrageous-looking Urus.

Buick Envista

2025 Buick Envista
Eight-cylinder luxurious German coupe SUVs are all well and good, but they are well out of reach for many of us. Not to worry, though, as other automakers are following in the footsteps of more premium brands by launching coupe crossover models which are attainable to all, such as this, the 2025 Buick Envista. It's sleek, stylish, and more importantly, available from just $22,900, making it not only one of the cheapest in the segment, but also one of the most affordable new cars in America right now.
The Buick Envista may share a lot with the Chevrolet Trax, including its engine, but it does so without drastically increasing the price. For simple transportation with a premium flare, the Envista makes many more expensive crossovers feel overpriced.

Sure, the 1.2-liter three-cylinder powerplant isn't particularly motivating, but for local trips and general daily duties it's more than capable, plus it should prove cheap to run and maintain too, further broadening the Envista's appeal as a cut-price crossover with coupe looks.
BMW X6

2025 BMW X6
BMW first debuted the X6 almost 20 years ago now, coining it as the first ever 'Sports Activity Coupe', arguably launching the whole SUV coupe segment which is so popular today. The 2025 BMW X6 remains one of the key players in the market to this day, boasting a typically-BMW turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, excellent driving dynamics, and a smart, driver-focused cabin. While it's far from a bargain, with a starting price of $74,500, it is one of the more affordable premium options of this size. This is more than just an SUV with a sloping roofline – it's a high-performance luxury vehicle, with a harder edge than many of its key rivals, making it a great choice for driving enthusiasts who still need a helpful dose of practicality and style.

The Coupe Crossover That Beat The BMW X6 By 6 Years
Many regard the odd-looking BMW X6 as the SUV that set the trend for a new generation of four-door luxury coupes. But one Frenchman beat it to it.

If cylinder count and 0 to 60 mph times are of little importance to you, then the 2025 Audi Q8 might just be the perfect choice, saving tens of thousands against the hardened S and RS models which base themselves upon it. The Q8 sports an almost identical starting price to the X6. However, where the BMW boasts a clear focus on performance, the Q8 instead looks to pioneer refinement. Inside, the Q8 is just as luxurious as many models twice the price, with a wide array of impressive tech features and creature comforts.
While a typically boxy SUV, such as the Q7, will always boast more room internally, the 2025 Audi Q8 is still remarkably practical, boasting more cargo and passenger space than almost all other models competing in the same segment.
BMW X6 M

If 375 horsepower and six cylinders are just not enough, BMW will sell you a 2025 X6 M instead of a standard X6, which replaces the turbocharged 'six' with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, packing a monstrous 617 horsepower. Not only does the output increase, but the price does also, significantly, as the M-designed X6 checks in at $55,200 more than the model on which it's based. So, a bargain it is not, but for the deep-pocketed gearhead, the X6 M is one of the more hardcore options within the coupe SUV segment, proven with a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds.
Genesis GV80 Coupe

2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe
Genesis has been making waves in recent years, and the 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe is the latest model to be turning heads within the industry, launching as the automaker's all-new flagship model. It sports a starting price $21,750 higher than its SUV sibling, which could be tough to justify, but for those that do find the justification, the GV80 should prove to be an excellent companion on the road. Under the hood, Genesis provides two powertrain choices, and it's the e-Supercharger option which steals headlines, upping power from 375 to 409 horsepower, and adding features such as launch control and Sport+ drive mode.
We spent our time with the more powerful supercharged engine and thoroughly enjoyed our day of driving. On the highway, a heavy foot on the gas quickly had the GV80 Coupe at the speed limit with aggressive acceleration. Especially in Sport+ mode, this drives and sounds like a performance coupe right down to the transmission shifts. On side roads, it was equally fun with crisp steering that made it easy to take through turns and a well-mannered suspension system kept the GV80 Coupe from getting unwieldy.
Nicole Wakelin, CarBuzz Editor-at-Large
The GV80 SUV is a three-row model, whereas this coupe is strictly available as a two-row SUV only, which makes sense as the sloping roofline eats away at any possible headroom – the SUV's third row is small anyway, so it's not a huge sacrifice. Bolstered sports seats which are unique to the coupe provide a fun and sporting vibe, plus a variety of color combinations add a playful and exciting splash of color into the well-equipped cabin.

2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 63 Coupe
Mercedes-AMG is continuing to purge its model lineup of V8 engines, and while that may upset the majority of AMG fans, the smaller-capacity replacements certainly aren't lacking in comparison. Hearing that the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four plug-in hybrid powertrain may sound a little disappointing, until you clock that it kicks out 671 horsepower, and can dart from 0 to 60 mph in a scarcely believable 3.5 seconds. That sort of lunacy is exactly what makes this one of the most exciting coupe SUV models in 2025, with or without a rumbling V8 soundtrack.
Audi Q5 Sportback

/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/gallery-images/original/1059000/600/1059682.jpg
2025 Audi Q5 Sportback
Plenty of us are attracted to the wide range of SUVs which proudly wear the four-ringed badge, but unfortunately, the mass majority of crossover coupe models by Audi are priced way above what the average folk can afford. Fortunately, the 2025 Audi Q5 Sportback is not, which is great for those with more reasonable budgets.
An efficient turbo-four engine takes care of motivation, but that's not the star attraction. Rather than focusing on performance, the Q5 Sportback prioritizes refinement, practicality, and style. The more traditionally styled Q5 SUV might boast a touch more interior space, but the Sportback model is so much sleeker, and can still swallow up a family and all their goods.

Many of the best-rated coupe SUVs could be considered to be a little outrageous, but none quite so much as the 2025 Lamborghini Urus SE. It checks in at over a quarter-million dollars, boasts an all-new plug-in powertrain which develops almost 800 horsepower, and it can dart from 0 to 60 mph in around 3.3 seconds – despite weighing a gargantuan 5,520 lbs. It's totally unnecessary, but there-in lies the Lamborghini's charm. It's a wild and striking extension of the fortunate owner's own individuality, and also the brand's best-selling model of all time, proving that vastly over the top Italian high-performance machines are still very much in demand.

Characteristics Of The Best Coupe Crossover And SUV Models
Is there more to the coupe-styled sports utility vehicle than just its interesting look? What sets the crossover coupe apart from other crossover models?
- They have striking, suave looks
- They are generally packed with features
- They take a knock in trunk space compared to regular SUVs
- They present with a sportier presence
What To Consider When Buying A Coupe SUV
The sloping roofline so distinctive of sport utility coupe SUVs may be nicer to look at than the boxier SUV profile, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t without its vices:
Pros
- Aerodynamic advantages over box-shaped SUVs
- Handsome, modern looks
- No sacrifices made on performance or features
- Still as safe and reliable as the regular SUV on which it's based
Cons
- Coupe SUVs tend to cost more than regular SUVs
- There is less cargo space in a coupe crossover than in a regular SUV
- Rear headroom may suffer due to the sloping roofline
What is the best coupe SUV for families?
Depending on what your needs are, there are various coupe SUVs to choose from, ranging in size and price.
What’s the difference between coupe-style SUVs and regular SUVs?
The obvious difference is in how these sports utility vehicles look - whereas the SUV on which they are based has a typical square rear end, the coupe version’s roof tapers at the rear. This naturally affects passenger headroom and cargo space, so if your priority is roominess, stick with the SUV.
What luxury coupe SUVs are available in the US?
German premium automakers like BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes all have a finger in the coupe SUV pie. BMW offers both the X3 and X5 in coupe-style derivatives, namely the X4 and X6 models, respectively. Porsche provides coupe versions of the Cayenne, while Mercedes-Benz has the GLC Coupe and GLE Coupe in its stables.
