Reviving one of Aston Martin's most storied nameplates, it serves as both a modern flagship and a celebration of the traditional British GT.AdvertisementAdvertisementRivals include the Ferrari 12Cilindri, Bentley Continental GT Speed, and Lamborghini Revuelto. What's NewThe Vanquish 25 is a new special edition developed by Aston Martin's Q bespoke division to celebrate 25 years since the original Vanquish's debut. It is achingly beautiful, immensely powerful, richly appointed, and far more rewarding to drive than its considerable size might suggest. A few frustrating omissions keep it from perfection, but this is unquestionably a worthy Aston Martin flagship.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Vanquish delivers effortless, seemingly endless acceleration, yet its greatest surprise is how balanced and responsive it feels through corners. Crisp turn-in and a composed chassis make it more agile than expected, particularly when driven with smooth, deliberate inputs.Even so, the Vanquish never fully disguises its weight or substantial width, which can make it feel unwieldy on tight roads. The Volante retains nearly all of the coupe's dynamic ability while adding another layer of drama. Its structure feels impressively rigid, the ride remains composed, and lowering the roof allows occupants to better enjoy the V-12—even if turbocharging prevents it from sounding quite as distinctive as the best naturally aspirated engines. The cabin is beautifully finished, and we appreciate the physical controls for quickly adjusting important vehicle settings. The Vanquish nevertheless lacks some features that should be expected at this price, most notably a nose-lift system. The coupe's glass roof could also use a shade or dimming function, while the Volante suffers from limited rear visibility with its roof raised.AdvertisementAdvertisementThose drawbacks matter, but they do little to diminish the Vanquish's appeal. It looks sensational, delivers serious performance, and inspires its driver in a way few grand tourers can. As celebrations of the traditional V-12 GT become increasingly rare, this is an especially memorable one.Top-Ranked Competitors:Ferrari 12CilindriBentley Continental GT SpeedLamborghini RevueltoPorsche 911 Turbo SMotorTrend TestedEvery 2027 Vanquish is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V-12 producing 824 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive are standard, and the last Vanquish we tested accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in a quick 3.3 seconds. For comparison, the Bentley Continental GT Speed uses a smaller 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 plug-in hybrid system that makes less combined horsepower—771 hp—but the same amount of torque. With all-wheel drive, the Bentley reached 60 mph in an even faster 2.8 seconds. Both are extraordinarily quick.MPGs and RangeThe 2027 Vanquish coupe is rated at 13/21 mpg city/highway, while the Volante returns 13/20 mpg. Either version should provide roughly 347 miles of driving range.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe 2026 Bentley Continental GT is considerably more efficient thanks to its plug-in-hybrid powertrain, earning 46 mpg-e combined. It offers about 440 miles of total range, including up to 30 miles of electric-only driving.Safety FeaturesStandard driver assist tech with every Vanquish includes:Automaitc emergency brakingAdaptive cruise controlLane keepingAutomatic high-beamsTraffic sign recognitionBlind-spot monitoringRear cross-traffic monitoringDriver attention monitoringA 360-degree cameraCargo Space and Interior RoomThe Vanquish is available with either 2+0 or 2+2 seating.
