How much is a Honda worth? If we are talking about that Honda Accord that we drove to High School on the rev limiter without ever changing the oil, probably around 50 bucks. But one Honda looks set to become one of the most expensive ever, with a few days yet to run on the auction, and it's already well into Lamborghini money. This Rare NSX Is Already A Quarter Of A Million Bucks Bring A TrailerWhen the Acura NSX was launched in 1990, it was no secret that this Japanese supercarwas gunning for Ferrari. But while the NSX had the low-slung looks and mid-engine layout of an Italian exotic, at $77,355, it was almost half the price of a Ferrari 348. It was also reliable and easy to drive daily, shaping how supercars would look in the future. With interest in the NSX exploding in recent years, the cars are now passing hands for Ferrari cash. However, one rare example that recently went up for sale on Bringatrailer looks like it might smash expectations of what a non NSX-R car might be worth. This May Look Like An Ordinary NSX, But... Bring A Trailer The car in question is a rather nice looking 2005 Acura NSX-T that was ordered new by the owner of Jay Wolfe Acura in Kansas City, Missouri. Aside from the Work 17″ front and 18″ rear wheels, it looks pretty much like most NSXs of this era — except it's not. This Silverstone Metallic NSX (Silver leather upholstery) was modified when new with roughly $43k of Comptech USA parts, including a supercharger, carbon-fiber intake, and exhaust system. These mods alone would have been good for around 60 to 70 additional horsepower for the 3.2-liter DOHC V6. That's a useful step up from the standard 290 hp on a 2005 NSX, with some internet forums suggesting the SC cars were around four seconds to 60 mph. This example also has a short-shift kit and clutch kit for the six-speed manual transaxle, plus coilover suspension and a big-brake kit with Brembo calipers. So how much is this NSX worth? This Rare NSX Is Already A Quarter Of A Million Bucks Bring A Trailer Bearing in mind that this NSX only has 3,000 miles on the clock, it's not going to be cheap. But with four days still left to run on Bringatrailer, the price is already mind-boggling. Bids currently sit at $250,999, and it's very likely that that figure will go a lot higher. What makes the car even more valuable is that it is from the last year, with experts such as RMSotheby's saying that just 43 examples were produced that year.NSXs do command big prices. One of less than 140 Honda NSX-Rs built between 2002 and 2005 sold recently for just over $1million. But that was a limited and highly sought-after Type-R. We will wait and see what this supercharged Acura NSX-T reaches — it could be a gamechanger for NSX values.Sources: RMSothebys.com
