Over the last few decades, there has been no shortage of old sports car brands being bought up and revived, from Bugatti to De Tomaso. The same happened with Bizzarrini a few years ago. Surprisingly, though, the folks that restarted Bizzarrini didn't jump right into creating an all-new vehicle with the not-quite-stolen valor of a famous name. Instead, the company set to work on building a run of continuation vehicles based on the brand's most famous car, the 5300 GT. Now the company has shown the last of its continuation models, one that honors the founder of the brand.Bizzarrini Beautiful In Basic Black The car you see here is the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival Centenario Edition. It doesn't celebrate 100 years of the company, but rather what would've been founder and engineer Giotto Bizzarrini's 100th birthday. Bizzarrini unfortunately died in 2023 at the age of 96, just shy of his 97th birthday. Although he didn't live to see this particular example of the 5300 GT, he did at least live to see early examples of the Revival line reach production. Giotto Bizzarrini was known for more than just the cars that bore his name, and arguably is better known for cars with other names. He worked on the Ferrari 250 GTO and Lamborghini's first V12.BizzarriniBizzarrini the company didn't do too much to differentiate the Centenario Edition from the other Revival cars, but it does feature a unique and simple paint scheme in gloss black. It also has classic number roundels with the number 100 to indicate what makes it special. Besides the special paint and its special edition name, it also marks the last of the Revival cars. Bizzarrini built a total of 24 of them, and the first one was delivered in 2022.What makes these Revival cars so interesting is that they're meant to be as close to the original as possible, and they're built so that they're ready for vintage racing. The steel chassis is based on the original, though the faithful body is made from a composite.BizzarriniWhile Bizzarrini only calls it a "period-specific" engine under the hood, it's fairly clear that it's some variation of a small-block Chevy V8, just like the original had. With its unique intake manifold and Weber carburetors, it makes more than 400 horsepower, and it weighs less than 2,800 pounds. It also has FIA-certified seats, seat belts, roll cage, and fuel cell, so it's ready for use in official vintage races. We hope some of the owners take advantage of that ability. What's Next For Bizzarrini With the Revival cars wrapped up, Bizzarrini can fully focus on its next model, which will be thoroughly modern. It also honors the company's original founder, as it will be called Giotto. It also sports a design penned by Giugiaro, just like the 5300 GT. You can even spot some references to the 5300 GT in the rear glass, the split front grille slits, and the voluptuous fenders.BizzarriniUnlike the classic car, this new one will be mid-engined and pick up four additional cylinders. The V12 sounds as though it will be developed in-house and will be naturally aspirated. The company said it planned to start testing in 2024, though we haven't heard anything new about it since the reveal. Perhaps that will change now that the last Revival car has been shown.
