And not only is BMW's automotive division celebrating the track's birthday early with the announcement of six different special editions, the company's closely-related motorcycle brand is also getting in on the action with three different commemorative models of their own.bmwOn the car side, six different M models will pay tribute to the 'Ring with their own hundred-car runs. Specifically, BMW is planning "100 Jahre Nürburgring" editions of the M2, M3 sedan, M3 Touring, M4 coupe, M5 sedan, and M5 Touring. The BMW M 1000 R, M 1000 RR, and M 1000 XR receive similar treatment on the motorcycle side. Production limitations have not been announced for the six special edition cars, but the three motorcycles will be limited to 100 units each.bmwThe six cars are either painted in a signature shade called "Nürburgring Green" as seen on the M3 Touring above or the more conservative metallic black on the M5 Touring below. Models equipped with a carbon fiber roof get light gray asymmetric stripes over the exposed carbon, while the wagon models get the same detail over a black-painted roof regardless of exterior color. Some models get particularly bright green accents on the wheels and grille, and all pick up anniversary-specific wording along the doors and decklids.bmwBMW says that all the automotive special editions aside from the M2 will be available to order starting this month, with the M2 following in January of next year; pricing details weren't made available at the time of the announcement. As the announcement was released only on the country's European channels, it seems likely that this particular run of special editions will be limited to markets near the century-old track itself. You Might Also LikeIf You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
