The sedan is dead. Long live the SUV! Well, actually not so much. In 2025, more than a million customers bought a new sedan, demonstrating that – even though the sedan may not be the king of the hill anymore – it certainly is far from done for. With models like Toyota's Camry and Corolla, Honda's Civic, Nissan Sentra and many more still raking in big sales numbers, there are still enough cool boxes for customers to tick, and hand over their hard-earned cash. This is a list of the 10 bestselling sedans in the USA in 2025, shared between six auto companies.Sales data was sourced directly from the automakers, with the vehicles ranked here in order according to the number of sedans sold in the USA in 2025. MSRP values exclude destination fees. Note that Tesla sedan sales are not included here, as the company does not provide detailed sales reports. BMW 3-Series Total sales (2025): 33,031 2025 BMW 330i front, three-quarter* BMW 330i specificationsBMW's 3-Series recorded an increase of 5.6% in total number of annual sales in 2025 versus 2024, reaching 33,031 unit sales. The 330i is nowadays the entry-level model, retailing from $48,000 for the rear-wheel drive version (there is also a 330i xDrive version available). This two-liter turbocharged model makes a "measly" 255 hp, along with 295 lb-ft of torque. On the other end of the scale, you can indulge in the M3 Competition xDrive sedan with 523 hp, and the ability to sprint to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. This apex version of the BMW M3 retails for $88,600. Kia K5 Total sales (2025): 72,751 cars 2026 Kia K5 front, three-quarter* Kia K5 LXS FWD specificationsThe Kia K5 received a substantial makeover in 2025, and this shows in the numbers: the updated model recorded a 56.1% increase in sales over the 2024 numbers, with nearly 73,000 K5s finding a new home in the USA. With pricing starting from $27,490 for the LXS FWD model, the good-looking K5 offers great value for money. The range, which includes a model with all-wheel-drive, is topped off with the luxurious EX FWD model. But the coolest Kia K5 is the GT. This sporty, front-wheel-drive version gets a turbocharged version of the 2.5-liter engine, delivering a handy 290 hp, and linked to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It will get you to 60 mph in just over five seconds, and it retails for $33,590. All-wheel-drive is also available for this model. Nissan Altima Total sales (2025): 93,268 cars 2023 - 2025 Nissan Altima front, three-quarter* Nissan Altima S FWD specificationsThe Nissan Altima sedan recorded sales of nearly 100,000 units in 2025. The Altima headed into 2025 on the back of a mild midlife makeover, which includes more features and safety kit. But, as Nissan apparently aims to move away from internal combustion engines, the two-liter turbocharged SR model, with 248 hp of power, was discontinued. This left only the 188 hp, 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine in the game. The result was a telling 18.1% fewer cars sold in 2025, compared to 2024 (113,898 units sold).Nissan is currently in a spot of financial bother, reporting massive financial losses. We're not so sure that killing off the halo SR model – and the possible discontinuation of all its compact sedans – will do them any financial favors going forward. Kia K4 Total sales (2025): 140,540 cars 2025 Kia K4 GT-Line front quarter driving* Kia K4 LX specificationsKia's compact sedan offering, the K4, found 140,540 new owners in 2025. That represents a half-a-point increase in sales over the 2024 number (139,778). The good-looking Kia ticks a lot of cool boxes, and sells at a highly competitive price point, too, with the base two-liter model selling from $22,290. For nearly the same price as an entry-level, naturally aspirated Nissan Altima, you can park the range-topping, K4 GT-Line Turbo in your driveway. This model has a 1.6-liter, turbocharged engine that packs 190 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. It also gets all the bells and whistles, and then some. The K4 should continue to be a strong performer for Kia. Hyundai Elantra Total sales (2025): 148,200 cars 2025 Hyundai Elantra front, three-quarter* Hyundai Elantra SE specificationsA total of 148,200 Hyundai Elantra units were sold in 2025. This equates to an 8% increase over the 136,698 it recorded in 2024, indicating steady growth. The Elantra range, with its swooping, modern lines, starts off with the SE model, retailing from $22,265. This model gets the same engine that powers the Kia K4 entry-level version, so it has 147 hp and 132 lb-ft.Okay, but it won't blow your hair back. Which is exactly why the Elantra range offers something for (almost) everyone who likes a trunk, and extended warranties (like a 10-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty). There are numerous sporty options, too, but the cherry on top is the Elantra N.This Elantra not only looks the part, it goes it too, with a 276 hp turbocharged engine and a suspension and traction control system fine-tuned on the Nürburgring track in Germany. The Elantra is sure to continue to be a strong seller, with an even more exciting N model on the way. Honda Accord Total sales (2025): 150,196 cars 2025 Honda Accord front, three-quarter* Honda Accord LX specificationsHonda's Accord recorded a total of just over 150,000 cars sold in 2025, which sounds pretty good. But it is actually down 7.7% on the 2024 numbers (162,723 units), which probably raised a couple of red flags in the kingdom of Honda. The Honda is powered by a 1.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 192 hp. Even more impressively, the engine's 192 lb-ft of torque is available from 1,700 rpm, all the way to 5,000 rpm.The Honda Accord range stretches all the way to the $39,300 Touring Hybrid, with a 204-hp two-motor hybrid set-up that includes a two-liter engine and an electric motor. Classy, refined and offering something for most tastes, the Accord still offers a compelling choice in this segment. Nissan Sentra Total sales (2025): 152,578 cars 2026 Nissan Sentra front, three-quarter* Nissan Sentra S FWDNissan's designers had clearly been having a peek over the neighbor's fence when they designed the Sentra, with some strong resemblance to the Kia K5, Hyundai Elantra and with a good measure of Toyota Corolla thrown in the mix, too. Which is probably not a bad thing, as Nissan managed to sell just over 152,000 Sentra cars in 2025.It is also the most consistent performer on this list, selling just 81 units less than in 2024 (a 0.1% decrease). The latest Nissan Sentra was introduced in the USA in the final quarter of 2025, and folks seem to have taken to it. The entire Sentra range is powered by the familiar two-liter, naturally aspirated engine, delivering 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) sends the power to the front wheels only.Nissan clearly has a winning recipe going here. Time will tell if they will be able to color it properly, and maybe up the engine game some... or, if they will abandon all internal combustion cars, and put all their money on EVs. Honda Civic Total sales (2025): 238,661 cars (all variants) 2025 Honda Civic Si front, three-quarter* Honda Civic LXHonda's coveted Civic takes the final spot on the podium with 2025 sales amounting to 238,661. It also took a bit of a sales dip in 2025, recording a loss of 1.4% (242,005 cars) compared to 2024. The Civic is the Swiss Army knife on this list. The range kicks off with the very practical and efficient LX model that is powered by a very practical and efficient two-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder producing 150 hp, linked to a CVT gearbox. If you want to be even more efficient, you can go for the hybrid, two-motor set-up, too, with a combined 200 hp, and can reach up to 50 MPG.For the more racy at heart, there is the Civic Si option. This model slots in below the Honda Civic Type R hatch, and comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, a limited-slip front differential, a sports-tuned suspension, and the brand's turbocharged 1.5-liter VTEC engine, producing 200 hp. Toyota Corolla Total sales (2025): 248,288 cars (all variants) 2023 Toyota Corolla Sedan front, three-quarter* Toyota Corolla LEThe Toyota Corolla has been around since 1966. Since then, more than 50 million cars have been sold around the world, making the Corolla the bestselling car in history. All that heritage and the solid reputation are clearly evident in the latest model, too. The range kicks off with a perfectly practical 169 hp "entry-level" naturally aspirated model, then takes a more efficient turn with some hybrid and (optional) all-wheel-drive derivatives.Solid, dependable and offering excellent value for money, the coveted Corolla's sales numbers increased by a handy 6.5%, with almost a quarter of a million cars finding a new home in 2025. Toyota Camry Total sales (2025): 316,185 cars 2026 Toyota Camry SE AWD* Toyota Camry LE FWDWhen Toyota announced that its Camry range would only consist of hybrid powertrains, even some Toyota die-hard fans probably raised a few eyebrows. But the company has proven that hybrid may very well be the ideal no-man's land between internal combustion engines and electric propulsion. In 2025, Toyota sold 316,185 Camry hybrids. This is a 2% increase over 2024, when just under 310,000 cars were sold. So what is it about the Camry that makes it so popular?Toyota's fifth-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive offers 225 hp in the front-wheel-drive application, or 232 hp in the all-wheel-drive version. Smooth, comfortable, luxurious, and with that indestructible Toyota feeling, the good-looking Camry offers excellent value for money, excellent efficiency and excellent usability. It certainly is a worthy flag bearer for all of sedan-kind.
