Image Credit: jackieman20 on TikTokI know that deer are much bigger in person, and that deer-crossing signs are posted near densely forested areas so drivers know to be wary. However, I don't think I really understood just how big a deer can actually be until this video.A video posted to TikTok on July 6 shows a Subaru that appears to be severely damaged after hitting a deer. When I say really destroyed, I mean I'm not even sure how this deer hit the vehicle, given the damage to the hood and front bumper. The driver was also just as surprised, especially since he was apparently going 70 MPH on the highway just before impact. He didn't sustain any injuries as a result of the accident, minus a few scratches on his legs.AdvertisementAdvertisementI always knew that Subarus were made to endure harsh conditions, but I didn't think that they could be as harsh as what this person managed to record.A Deer Left This Subaru Almost UnrecognizableThe video starts off strong, with the driver saying, "I'll tell you what, let this be an ad for Subaru," while pointing the camera at the damage. If he hadn't said that he had hit a deer, I'd have thought that maybe he had driven the front of the vehicle into swampy waters. He then goes on to say, "I mean, I just smoked a deer. Smoked a deer, probably going 70 on the highway, and this Subaru stood tough, like Kam Chancellor smoking a wide receiver over the middle."The damage to the car looks to be extensive, with a grass-like material smeared over the front bumper, the entire hood pulled back over the windshield, and the engine billowing smoke, looking to have been pushed together. Even the airbags deployed all over the inside. He Couldn't Stop Praising His Car After the CrashEven though the video was probably initially supposed to be about the crash, it quickly turned into an advertisement for Subaru. After showing off the little damage he sustained, he says, "I'm fine, and Subaru stood tough. I mean, look at this damage."AdvertisementAdvertisementFortunately, a police officer arrived on the scene, likely to assess the situation, but it doesn't look like more than one was necessaryThe video then ends with the driver looking into the camera and saying, "Subaru, thank you." I can't imagine the wave of relief in knowing that the only thing that really saved you from a terrible situation was how well the car you were in was made.Commenters Turned the Wreck Into a Subaru Love FestMany of the comments picked up on the Kam Chancellor reference, with one of the comments reading, "Me going to a Subaru dealership asking for a Kam Chancellor 😂😂😂." Similarly, another read, "Queue the cam chancellor edit."Others were a little bit more focused on his much truth was behind the statement, with another person writing, "no your supposed to say "going the speedlimit" not the actual speed you were doing😭✌."AdvertisementAdvertisementMany drivers also shared their own stories of similar instance that they were saved from because of their Subaru. One viewer wrote, "This was my mom's one of a kind in sc burgundy red style sti and went out like a champ against that Sierra," paired with an image of the totaled Subaru.Whether you came away impressed by the deer or the Subaru, one thing's for sure: that's one crash the driver was incredibly lucky to walk away from.If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
