Gasgoo Munich-Pony.ai is partnering with European mobility platform Bolt and global automaker Stellantis to launch a robotaxi testing program in Luxembourg. The trio announced the initiative on June 9.Image Credit: Pony.aiLeveraging Luxembourg's progressive regulations on autonomous testing, the project will focus on validating the safety, performance, and compliance of Pony.ai's seventh-generation robotaxi in local traffic conditions. For its part, Stellantis will supply an MPV built on its Level 4 autonomous platform, drawing on its strength in vehicle engineering and manufacturing.Preparations are underway, with a focus on verifying safety protocols and operational frameworks for city-wide autonomous driving. The testing scope spans critical areas including vehicle deployment, integration with ride-hailing platforms, fleet operations, and coordination with regulators across departments. This initiative builds on a prior cooperation agreement between the three firms. The goal is to advance the development and deployment of autonomous mobility solutions in Europe, laying the groundwork for fully driverless operations once the project concludes. Each partner brings distinct strengths to the table: Bolt contributes its ride-hailing operational expertise and market reach; Stellantis supplies Level 4-ready vehicle platforms and engineering prowess; and Pony.ai provides its autonomous driving technology and operational experience. Through this collaboration, the trio aims to accelerate the large-scale rollout of autonomous mobility services across Europe.
