A Lamborghini Murciélago built to a genuinely one-off specification is about to test how far collectors will go for the ultimate version of Sant'Agata's last analog V-12 flagship. RM Sotheby's has consigned a 2010 Murciélago LP 670-4 SV, chassis 4015, to its online Sealed auction platform, where it will sell without reserve. RM Sotheby's specialists believe the car, finished in a shade it wore from the factory exactly once, is the last manual-transmission LP 670-4 SV built, and by extension the last manual V-12 Lamborghini ever made.The LP 670-4 SV, unveiled at the 2009 Geneva show, was only the third Lamborghini to wear the SV badge, following the Miura SV of 1971 and the Diablo SV of 1995. Every one of those cars represented the most extreme, most focused version of its respective platform, and the Murciélago's run-out edition upheld that tradition. Engineers cut roughly 100 kilograms from the coupe's weight and found an extra 30 horsepower through a reworked exhaust, ignition, and variable valve timing, pushing the power-to-weight ratio from 379 bhp per tonne to 422 bhp per tonne. It was also the last Lamborghini built with a steel body and the Bizzarrini-designed V-12 that had powered the marque's flagships since the Miura, making roughly 300 examples the final link to a much older era of the brand. It is the only Murciélago LP 670-4 SV ordered through Lamborghini's Ad Personam customization program in Marrone Eklipsis, a deep metallic brown that pays homage to the run-out Diablo VT 6.0 SE, half of which left the factory in sunrise-toned Oro Elios and half in this sunset-toned brown. The car also skips the towering Aeropack Wing that nearly every LP 670-4 SV wore in period for the rarer Low Drag Wing, a cleaner setup that both suits the Murciélago's silhouette better and nudges top speed from 209 mph to 212 mph. Inside, chassis 4015 swaps the standard SV's stiff, carbon-shelled bucket seats for wider, more supportive LP640-spec chairs trimmed in Avorio Lilium, paired with a Marrone Janus Alcantara cabin. The most significant option, though, sits between those seats: a six-speed gated manual transmission. According to the Hagerty Price Guide, a standard 2010 Murciélago LP 670-4 SV coupe in #3 (Good) condition currently carries a value of roughly $887,000, dwarfing the LP640 coupe's $494,000 and the LP640 roadster's $455,000 in the same condition tier. That gap alone shows how much collectors already pay for the SV's extra power and focus over a standard Murciélago; a one-of-one color, the rarer low-drag aero package, and one of only five manual gearboxes are the kind of factors price guides can't fully capture, and they are exactly why RM Sotheby's is letting the market decide with a no-reserve sale rather than setting expectations with an estimate.AdvertisementAdvertisementThere are a few practical wrinkles bidders should weigh before chasing this one.
