The new model, removing the third row of the existing one to maximise interior space, is available in two trims: the Executive Luxury Edition and the Executive Signature Edition. The vehicle is priced between 382,800 yuan (56,300 USD) and 422,800 yuan (62,200 USD) for the full purchase option. Customers opting for Nio’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model can purchase the vehicle starting from 274,400 yuan (40,400 USD). Performance and engineering Built on the NT3.0 global 900V high-voltage platform, the ES8 five-seater features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a 180 kW (241 hp) front induction motor and a 340 kW (456 hp) rear silicon carbide permanent magnet motor. The system produces a combined output of 520 kW (697 hp) and 700 N · m of torque, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.97 seconds. The vehicle comes standard with a 102 kWh ternary lithium battery, providing a CLTC-rated range of 655km. The chassis features front and rear five-link independent suspensions, dual-chamber air springs, and CDC variable-damping shock absorbers. Dimensions and design The ES8 measures 5,280mm in length, 2,010mm in width, and 1,800mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130mm. The exterior retains the Nio design language, including a split headlight setup and three roof-mounted LiDAR sensors. A new “Moonlight Silver” paint option joins the existing palette of seven colours. The front trunk provides 230L of storage, while the rear cargo area offers 1,334L of space, which can be expanded to 3,084L by folding the rear seats. Side and rear of the five-seater ES8. Interior and technology The cabin features a 2+3 seating layout. The “dual zero-gravity” front seats and “quasi-zero-gravity” rear seats offer extensive adjustment, including 180° recline for the front and 138° for the rear. The interior is powered by a Qualcomm 8295P chip and features a four-screen interaction system, including a 21.4-inch Mini-LED “Sky Screen” and a 15.6-inch 3K AMOLED centre display. For entertainment and convenience, the vehicle is equipped with a 27-speaker “Lyra” 8.1.4.2 immersive audio system (2,600W) and a standard 8.8L onboard fridge capable of temperatures ranging from -6°C to 50°C. Safety and intelligence With a cage-style body structure composed of 89% aluminum alloy and high-strength steel, the vehicle achieves a torsional rigidity of 40,136 N · m/deg. It is equipped with nine airbags and Nio’s “World Model” (NWM) for intelligent driving, supporting high-speed and urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), 100-meter trace-back reversing, and multi-scenario automated parking.
