The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been one of the automaker's most important offerings for decades. For many customers, it's their stepping stone into the luxury brand. Plus, the company offers the vehicle in a wide range of configurations, from entry-level models to high-performance AMG variants.Mercedes is preparing to launch the new, sixth-generation C-Class that's going to make the big switch to all-electric power. It has a matrix backlit display with independently adjustable brightness zones. Drivers can select from 10 display modes to tailor the color and gauge styling to their preferred layout.While Mercedes is highlighting the pillar-to-pillar Hyperscreen in these pictures, the MBUX Superscreen system is also available, featuring separate displays rather than the unified look shown here.The standard upholstery in the C-Class is Mercedes' new Softtorino faux leather that the company claims is "distinguished by its exceptionally refined appearance and first-class feel." For a higher-end cabin, there's a new “Twisted Diamond” design that uses Nappa leather with diamond perforations and contrasting stitching. The AMG Line models get moccasin stitching on the side bolsters. Metallic trim accents the air vents, speaker grilles, door handles, and switches. It's also possible to get wood or carbon fiber trim.Mercedes-BenzTo enhance passenger comfort, Mercedes developed a new climate control system featuring a multi-source heat pump. According to the company, when taking a trip on a day with a 19-degree Fahrenheit temperature, the interior heats up twice as quickly as the existing model.While the massive display is the most eye-catching element in the new C-Class, there are other elements that make it special. Mercedes isn't revealing the specific figure but says there's more space inside than ever before. A panoramic roof lets plenty of light into the cabin. The car has smooth styling with a flowing roofline. A teaser image reveals that the grille and Mercedes emblem are available with illumination for anyone who really wants to get some attention.The new C-Class will share underpinnings with the electric GLC-Class. The SUV features an 800-volt electric architecture with a 94-kilowatt-hour battery and delivers 483 horsepower from a pair of electric motors. In Europe's WLTP test, the GLC returns 713 km (443 miles) of range. No specs for the American-market version are available yet.We don't have to wait long to see the C-Class, as it debuts on April 20, 2026. We're expecting it to go on sale in the United States in 2027.
