On the eve of the Beijing Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the all-new long-wheelbase pure electric GLC SUV, marking its global debut. The model is specifically developed for the Chinese market, with a length of 4,933 mm and a wheelbase of 3,027 mm, exceeding that of the long-wheelbase internal combustion GLC. It also introduces a six-seat configuration for the first time. Mercedes-Benz Electric GLC LWB In terms of design, both exterior and interior reflect a transition toward electrification. The front grille integrates 942 illuminated elements, paired with digital headlights featuring the signature three-pointed star motif. Inside, the vehicle adopts a full-width integrated display, supported by around 1,000 LEDs enabling zoned ambient lighting. It also introduces a large-model-based virtual assistant system, aligning its user interaction with mainstream new energy vehicles. Interior view of Mercedes-Benz Electric GLC LWB On the powertrain side, the vehicle is equipped with an 89 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of over 700 km. Built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, it supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. Chassis development is another key highlight. The electric GLC incorporates chassis technologies shared with the S-Class, signaling Mercedes-Benz’s intent to carry over traditional luxury ride quality into its electric lineup. At the same event, the next-generation Mercedes S-Class sedan also made its China debut, featuring the company’s in-house MB.OS architecture, with more than 50% of components newly developed or significantly upgraded. Mercedes-Benz’s roadmap by 2027 According to its roadmap, Mercedes-Benz plans to launch more than 40 new models globally by 2027, including seven China-exclusive models.
