The ‘Kia EV2 Reservation Saving’ was available to customers who reserved the ‘First Edition’ from April 1, 2026, and bringing the on-the-road price down to £26,995 (from £28,495). Now, instead of the £1,500 discount coming from Kia, it’s coming from the UK government’s ECG fund. The discount applies for both fleet and retail orders of the EV2 ‘First Edition’, ensuring consistency with other Kia EVs including the EV3 Air, EV4 Air, EV3 GT-Line, the EV4 Motion and the PV5 Passenger ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’ tier vehicles.Other Kia vehicles, including the EV2 Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S, are still awaiting ECG approval; Kia says news on ‘eligibility’ will follow later in the year. In the meantime, these models will remain eligible for the £3,750 Kia EV2 ‘Reservation Saving’ of £3,750 – again, coming from Kia, not the UK ECG scheme.First unveiled at the start of this year, the EV2 is positioned as the entry point into Kia’s dedicated electric line-up, which also includes the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9. The model is designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe for European customers and will be built in Žilina, Slovakia, where series production kicked off in March.
