Jeep Will Give Away 100 Wranglers During The World CupJeep, christening itself "America's most patriotic brand" (Dodge would like a word), says it will give away Wrangler SUVs if America wins the World Cup. The brand says that in celebration of the cup, the first "100 eligible living Americans legally named George Washington who register will have the chance to drive home in a new Jeep Wrangler."Of course, there's the other caveat: America's team has to win the World Cup. Those odds are... perhaps worse than the odds of being named George Washington. The nation's best-ever finish in the World Cup was in 1930, when it finished third overall. Since then, it's been rough going. From 1954-1986, the United States didn't even qualify. In fact, the US has hosted the World Cup as many times as it's finished in the finals, first in '30, then again when the US made the quarter-finals in 2002. For Jeep, those are probably looking like solid odds.Jeep's rules for the giveaway are cut and dry:AdvertisementAdvertisementAny U.S. resident legally named George Washington can register at wranglerforwashingtons.comRegistration is open now through the final match of the tournamentThe first 100 verified registrants will be eligibleIf the U.S. wins it all, those selected will each receive a new Jeep WranglerWhat exactly a "new Wrangler" means isn't clear. Jeep offers a huge number of trim levels at a litany of price points for the SUV. Basic models start under $40,000, while range-topping, V8-powered (and arguably most American) Moab 392 starts at $81,000. As for our starting point in the World Cup, the men's team faces down Paraguay in Los Angeles on June 12.This story was originally published by Men's Journal on Jun 12, 2026, where it first appeared in the Gear section.
