The problem has to do with the software in the front cameras that may cause the forward collision avoidance system to activate prematurely. This can cause the vehicle to suddenly, and unexpectedly, apply the brakes when there is no need to.To fix this issue, Hyundai will have dealers update the front camera software, free of charge. Owners of these affect pickups and SUVs should get a letter mailed to them by July 17, 2026.
