Honda's HRC Civic Type R Project Could Arrive SoonHonda (Honda)It's been more than four months since Honda showed off a camouflaged Civic Type R concept (seen above) boasting branding from its HRC racing division, and updates on what exactly that concept was meant to preview have been few and far between. Fortunately for Civic enthusiasts waiting to see how Honda might be turning up the wick on its spectacular front-wheel drive performance car, that could change very soon.As brought to broader attention by CarScoops, Car Watch Japan reports that HRC boss Koji Watanabe appeared briefly at a major meeting of Type R enthusiasts in Japan this past weekend. There, he was grilled by event hosts about the HRC concept, as well as any performance parts that might be related to it. While he still did not explain what exactly the concept was, he did say that his team is developing the Civic Type R further by incorporating aerodynamic and other elements seen on racing cars. When asked when the car would arrive, Watanabe suggested that it was just under 100 days away.Whether that means a reveal or an actual launch is another question, but Honda's highest-performance product should be getting faster very soon either way. That may come in the form of an HRC edition of the road car, but it could also just mean an official collection of HRC performance parts that are also known to be under development. And wonderfully, Watanabe states that those are expected to reach both the Japanese and American markets, meaning that current Civic Type R owners in both places should have access to Honda-approved upgrades for their cars fairly soon. You Might Also LikeIf You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
