It's all part of Maranello's new car barrage for 2026, and this is one of the busiest years for the brand so far.Ferrari is planning five new models this year, and so far, we have the Amalfi Spider that serves as the Roma Spider's successor, along with the aforementioned Luce and 12Cilindri Manuale. That's three so far, so there are two to go to finish off the rest of the year. However, it seems like the company is already preparing for yet another big launch.FerrariIs This the F80 Aperta?Every decade sees a new Ferrari hypercar, and for the 2020s, it's the F80. Named as such to commemorate the company's 80th anniversary, production commenced in 2025 with just 799 earmarked for very special clients. Of course, it's all sold out.AdvertisementAdvertisementBut for those who missed out, there's still another chance to get one for as long as they prefer an open-top experience. Recently spied around Italy is what could be the F80 Aperta. More specifically, it's been spotted around Maranello, and it hints that the world premiere isn't too far away. Snapped by derek.photography, it's predicted for the 2027 model year and, predictably, only Ferrari's most vetted customers will get it, at least brand new.derek.photography/InstagramWhat to ExpectWe already know what a fixed-roof F80 looks like, but based on the spy shots, the Aperta will maintain those lines with the roof up. What we don't know is the type of roof it'll get, whether it's detachable or retractable. If we were to base it on the LaFerrari Aperta, we're leaning towards detachable. The butterfly doors from the hardtop could be retained for the Aperta the same way the LaFerrari Aperta kept them from the 'standard' LaFerrari. We're not expecting much in the way of changes inside, but we're not complaining. The same goes for the powertrain, combining a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 derived from the actual endurance racing hypercar along with three electric motors. Combined, it makes 1,184 hp, and taking the roof off lets you hear it being unleashed a wee bit louder.derek.photography/InstagramThis story was originally published by Autoblog on Jul 29, 2026, where it first appeared in the News section.
