Red-Hot 30K-Mile 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi Is a Pop-Up-Headlight Icon on Bring a TrailerFew shapes say 1980s Italian exotica the way a pop-up-headlight Pininfarina wedge does, and this red 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi is a textbook example. Offered by dealer BlackhorseLA on Bring a Trailer, the 30k-mile Prancing Horse is up for auction now, with bidding set to close on October 6.Finished in red over Nero leather, the targa-roofed GTSi pairs the look everyone remembers with a driving experience that still feels special. Behind the seats sits the fuel-injected 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 with Bosch K-Jetronic, factory rated at 205 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.A Cabin Worth Settling IntoInside, bolstered Nero leather seats wrap a cabin trimmed in the same material across the dash and door panels. A leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel fronts Veglia gauges, including a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and the gated shifter with its dogleg pattern delivers the mechanical theater that defines the classic Ferrari experience. Creature comforts include air conditioning, power windows, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo feeding Infinity and Boston Acoustics speakers, so the soundtrack can be period-correct, or at least period-adjacent.Details That MatterOutside, the body has been repainted red and is set off by a black removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets. Silver 14-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wear 225/60 BFGoodrich tires, and a fully independent double-wishbone suspension and ventilated discs at all four corners round out the hardware. The selling dealer reports that a timing belt service was performed in August 2026, a welcome bit of peace of mind on a quad-cam Ferrari V8, and the car comes with a clean California title. The 308 GTSi has long been one of the most approachable ways into Maranello ownership, and a low-mileage, manual-equipped example like this one makes a strong case for itself. If you like your Ferraris with a bit of Italian-American cultural history, it also helps that this body style spent years on television screens as the ultimate dream car.
