Stellantis just rolled out its future plans reorganizing the strategies for all brands at Investor Day in Auburn Hills, Michigan. There are a lot of major updates across the board, with a detailed course of action taking them clear through to 2030. However, all of those details turned into white noise the second muscle car nuts spotted a new SRT model hidden under a cover that's planned to drop sometime in the near future. While we have very little to run on, the wing tells us whatever’s coming will be huge. Our friends at Carbuzz have confirmed the name of an upcoming supermuscle car: Copperhead SRT. A New SRT Car Is Coming, And It Has A Big Wing Stellantis At first glance, it’s easy to think this upcoming SRTmodel is a new Dodge Viper. The Viper returning to meet the mid-engine C8 in battle is something many performance enthusiasts have been whispering about in recent years. However, a closer look tells us Dodge isn’t looking to take on Chevy's supercar. Instead, it seems like it might be planning to hit Ford where it hurts. The front end of the covered car has a silhouette that matches the latest generation of the Dodge Charger. The sharp angle of the grille is the first tell, with the hood, roofline and wheel well openings seemingly confirming it. About the only thing that separates the car in question from the standard Charger 2-door based on this image is the massive wing on the back.Stellantis With Chevrolet’s Camaro still absent from its lineup, the only real competitor the Charger has in the muscle car segment is the Ford Mustang. Moreover, the only Mustang with a wing that big is the GTD. Could Dodge actually be planning to take on the baddest Ford Mustang on the planet? It sure looks like it.If that’s the case, and if it intends to use the Charger platform to do so, SRT surely has its work cut out for it. The latest generation of Charger boasts impressive performance in a straight line, but it’s still an absolute behemoth, weighing in just shy of 5,000 pounds. Yes, even the ICE-powered versions are that heavy. Even if the GTD doesn’t qualify as a featherweight itself, the gap between the 550-horsepower Hurricane I6 in SIXPACK models and the 815-hp Predator 5.2 is far from a small hurdle to overcome. The 670-hp Daytona EV may make for a better argument on paper, but it is curiously absent from the coming model lineup shared in these future plans. However, this may not be a Charger at all. Instead, it may be a sneak peek at an all-new model. Carbuzz has confirmed Dodge is planning to release a new muscle car named the Copperhead SRT. Yes. That's the same name used on the legendary concept car from way back when. According to our friends over there, this new model will have similar features to the Charger, along with some cues taking inspiration from the Viper. The car is also said to be roughly the same size as the Mustang, meaning a very serious contender may be on the way. But, Will It Be The Hemi-Powered Winged Warrior We Deserve? MecumBut will it have a Hemi? It’s not like Dodge doesn’t have access to a power plant that could make the giant bleed. The Hellcat is officially back on the menu, with Durango already putting it to use. Ram also just brought back the Rumble Bee with a supercharged Hellcat Hemi under the hood, joining the ranks of the revived TRX.On top of that, Ram also has a new full-size SUV under covers in its future model lineup. The name? Ramcharger. It looks like Mopar is righting some wrongs. So, with a massive wing out back, it's not a stretch to think that Dodge may be gearing up to give longtime fans the car they deserve.
