StellantisThe future of Jeep has been a bit more up in the air over recent times. But Stellantis did recently confirm that it looks to have a bright future ahead of it after it unveiled the plans for its 14 brands at its Investor Day, as part of its FaSTLAne 2030 plan.It was a day that brought out some interesting developments. The automotive giant confirmed that Jeep was one of the four global brands that would recieve 70 percent of its future investments, alongside Ram, Peugeot, and Fiat, and the Pro One business unit. There was, however, something else that caught the eye of those watching or at the event. One of the slides at the Investor Day showed a mysterious new Jeep model. The company didn't give us a name, any specifications, or anything other than a front three-quarter image. But that was enough to spark the speculation.AdvertisementAdvertisementWhile it hasn't been in the US since 2023, or in Europe since 2025, the Jeep Renegade is making a comeback with a facelifted model in Brazil. But this brief glimpse at a concept had many sitting up and asking the same question. Has Jeep sneakily revealed the all-new Jeep Renegade? Why This Could Be an All-New Jeep RenegadeStellantisIt appears that the reveal of this new SUV might have been an accident, which would perhaps explain why it was only on-screen for a brief period. What we did see was a very square-shaped SUV, in a bright shade of green, but with just the front three-quarter angle being offered to those viewing. While news on a new Jeep Renegade hasn't been rife recently, the American manufacturer did confirm in 2024 that a new version is on the way, with introduction likely to take place in 2027. With no new version seen out and about testing, it's not 100 percent certain the new SUV will break cover for 2027.Yet while a refreshed version is on its way in Brazil, this isn't an all-new model. In fact, it's a refresh, featuring similar design cues to the current offering, such as the round headlights. A completely new version is certainly overdue, so it's entirely likely that we might see the Renegade make a return to the United States. The 2027 model year, despite the lack of prototypes being sighted, does still seem like a safe bet. What Form the New Renegade Might TakeJeepThe teaser image shown off by Stellantis does seem to lean towards more of a concept design than an actual production model. The big wheels, impressive lighting and the incredibly angular design resemble plenty of concepts we've seen over the years. But the chunky and boxy shape stays true to what we have seen from Jeep in the past. It looks rugged, which is also in keeping with the Jeep philosophy.AdvertisementAdvertisementThere is no word at all on possible powertrains, whether it would be fully electric, or if it might use a hybrid engine. A mild hybrid is entirely possible, as the new model in Brazil introduces the 48-volt Stellantis mild-hybrid system to the world. The hybrid is paired with a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, producing 176hp in total together with the electrical component. Much of this is speculation, but it's looking promising for those who want to see the Renegade make a return to the United States. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
