"Our new Torcal sets extraordinary benchmarks in every area that matters, and may just be the most considered car in our history."AdvertisementAdvertisementPublished reports say it will be an electric vehicle, sharing a dual-motor powertrain running on an 800-volt architecture the same as the Porsche Cayenne Electric. Bentley is, of course, owned by Volkswagen, which also has a controlling interest in Porsche, so platform sharing only makes sense.BentleyIf it is shared with the Cayenne EV, consider that Porsche lists impressive specs for that vehicle:0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds13.2-second quarter mile143 mph top speed435 hp with launch control7,716-pound towing capacity16 minutes to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent113 kWh gross battery capacity390 kW max charging powerKeep in mind those stats are for the Porsche Cayenne EV; Bentley hasn't revealed anything yet beyond the name and a teaser image.AdvertisementAdvertisementTorcal refers to a scenic area in Spain, by the way, known for its rocky formations. So maybe it will be an SUV. And before you complain about the name Torcal, consider that the other frontrunner was Barnato, after ancient Bentley racer Woolf Barnato.Currently, Bentley offers three model lines: the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga. If the Torcal is an EV, it would be Bentley's first. Look for the full Torcal reveal September 23.
