The automotive industry is in constant flux, and as most automakers embrace electrification, the pace of change is accelerating. New models are being introduced every year, while existing ones are forced to evolve or face extinction. In some cases, introducing a new generation or making design changes is not enough for an automaker to keep a model on the road, and the decision must be made to take it off the market for good. Here are some of the cars that you won’t be able to buy anymore in 2027, from sleek coupes to rugged SUVs.Items are listed in no particular order. All specs refer to the most recent available version and the base trim level for each model. Tesla Model S 2021 - 2025 Tesla Model S front 3/4The first car on our list is the Tesla Model S, the second-oldest model in the Tesla family after the first-generation Roadster. Launched in 2013, the Model S was a crucial model in the evolution of electric cars. This sleek sedan helped propel EVs into the mainstream, revolutionizing the automotive industry in the process.Having undergone several updates and lineup changes over its 13-year production run, the Model S exits the market with two trim levels available. There was the dual-motor base model and the high-performance three-motor Plaid, which was a rare example of four-figure horsepower accessible to the ordinary consumer. Tesla Model X 2025 Tesla Model X front, falcon doors openThe Model S is not the only member of the Tesla lineup that’s due to be discontinued in 2027. Its Model X crossover sibling, based on the same platform and launched two years later in 2015, is also coming to the end of its journey. The change leaves the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck as the only remaining Tesla vehicles on the market.Like the Model S, the Model X’s final year on the market offers a dual-motor trim and a tri-motor Plaid version, with an output of 1,020 hp. Thanks to its larger dimensions, however, the Model X offers greater practicality with extra passenger and cargo space. Acura RDX 2025-2026 Acura RDX front 3/4 lowThe Acura RDX nameplate has been on the market for nearly 20 years. Launched in 2007, the RDX was now in its third generation. The core reason behind the RDX’s discontinuation was related to logistics and supply chain issues.Honda’s Ohio-based suppliers have found themselves unable to produce some of the key components needed for the model’s assembly. Sourcing an alternative proved too difficult and expensive for Honda, so the model had to go. Karma Revero Karma Revero GT The Karma Revero has had a bizarre history, one that has now come to an end. The journey started with the infamous Fisker Karma, one of Henrik Fisker’s earlier automotive efforts, which ended in financial ruin. From the ashes of the Karma rose a second company, Karma Automotive, which borrowed the defunct model’s name.An updated version of the car, the Karma Revero, was launched – around this time, Fisker himself was developing another car with a disastrous history, the Fisker Ocean. At the end of last year, the Karma Revero also reached the end of the road. However, Karma already has plans to replace it with a new model, the Gyesera. Maybe the third time’s the charm? Lexus LC 2025 Lexus LC Red Front Angled View DrivingThe death of the Lexus LC marks a major turning point for the Japanese automaker. Several of its V8-powered models had already been discontinued in recent years, such as the IS 500 F Sport and the RC F. The LC coupe was the last one standing, and now it too is set to reach the end of its production run. Both the coupe and convertible variants of the model are being phased out.The stylish grand tourer is powered by a 5.0-liter V8, which produces 471 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. While the much-loved engine is disappearing, the brand is not giving up on having a flagship two-door coupe, with plans to put the new LFA Concept into production. Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 2021 - 2026 Chrysler Pacifica Stellantis is discontinuing all of its plug-in hybrid models in North America this year. One of the models affected is the hybrid version of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan, one of the few vehicles in this category still on sale in North America. Although minivans are gaining popularity again, so we might see some new models cropping up in the near future. The Pacifica Hybrid arrived at the same time as its gas-powered counterpart, launched for the 2017 model year as a replacement for the outgoing Town & Country minivan. It paired a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a 16-kWh battery, which provided an all-electric driving range of 32 miles. Jeep Wrangler 4xe 2024 - 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Another casualty of the Stellantis PHEV cull is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which is not just set to be killed off for 2027; it’s already disappearing in 2026. While it hasn’t been completely removed from the brand’s website, it is now hidden in the “All Vehicles” menu rather than in its own section. If you’re looking to get your hands on the Wrangler 4xe’s remaining stock, we suggest you act quickly.Stellantis cited changing customer demand as a driving factor behind its decision:With customer demand shifting, Stellantis will phase out plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) programs in North America beginning with the 2026 model year, and focus on more competitive electrified solutions, including hybrid and range‑extended vehicles where they best meet customer needs. Mercedes-AMG GLC 43/GLC 63 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 CoupeThe GLC 43 and GLC 63 versions of the Mercedes-AMG GLC-Class are both being discontinued for the 2027 model year. The new GLC 53 replaces the 43 trim. The model is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that produces 443 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. The new GLC 53 is not just 27 hp more powerful than the model it replaces. The SUV also has an updated suspension and braking system, among other features. There is, on the other hand, no direct replacement for the GLC 63 S E Performance. Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xeAnother Stellantis PHEV model facing the axe is the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. While the 4xe-branded plug-in powertrain was first made available in the Wrangler, it was also introduced to the Grand Cherokee lineup with the arrival of the model’s fifth generation, which started in 2021. It paired a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with a 17-kWh battery, providing an all-electric driving range of about 25 miles. The 4xe powertrain was available on five trim levels (Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve). From 2023 onward, the Trailhawk trim was only available as a hybrid. The trim is sticking around in 2027 but without the PHEV powertrain. BMW iX 2026 BMW iX Blue Front Angled ViewThe BMW iX crossover is leaving the market after a mere five years. This decision, however, does not exactly come as a surprise, though. BMW launched the model as a sort of stopgap to gradually introduce the new Neue Klasse platform. Now that the first car built on this platform, the iX3, is being launched in the US, the iX has become somewhat redundant and needed to vacate its spot in the lineup. However, the iX’s discontinuation is exclusive to the US. The model will continue to be sold elsewhere in the world, at least through the 2027 model year; what happens after that is still uncertain. Cadillac CT4/CT4-V/CT4-V Blackwing 2020 - 2026 Cadillac CT4 (23)The Cadillac CT4 and its high-performance siblings, the CT4-V and the CT4-V Blackwing, are not long for this world. Order books for the model are already closed, marking the end of the sports sedan’s seven-year stint on the market.Part of the reason for the CT4’s premature death is that it was somewhat overshadowed by its larger, pricier sibling, the CT5. The bigger model achieved better sales last year (an 11.6% gain, compared with the CT4’s 9.6% loss). As a result, the CT5 is sticking around while the CT4 disappears for good. Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray front 3/4The 2026 Corvette E-Ray may be “the smartest Corvette on sale,” according to CarBuzz; however, it’s also going to be the last of its kind. The hybrid ‘Vette is being phased out after just three model years, and is being replaced by an exciting “new” version of the model: the long-awaited Grand Sport, which was unveiled last month. The Grand Sport name first appeared in the early 60s, and was given to a small run of Corvettes built with the racetrack in mind. The modern Grand Sport evolved into a blend of the Z06’s handling and the Stingray’s powertrain, a recipe still used in the model’s latest incarnation. We will miss the E-Ray, but its replacement is shaping up to be something truly thrilling. Chrysler Voyager 2020 - 2025 Chrysler Voyager (19)After a couple of decades where it looked like the SUV and crossover might kill the minivan for good, and replace it as the go-to family car, the tide has changed. The minivan is going through a rebirth, with surging sales and new models being released. There is, however, one particular minivan that has not survived this shift in the market: the Chrysler Voyager, which is being discontinued this year. The model is essentially a rebadged, budget-friendly trim level of the Pacifica that has been updated for 2027. As a result, Chrysler has decided to market its minivan under a single nameplate, killing off the Voyager. Hyundai Ioniq 6 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N LineThe next model on our list is not quite fully disappearing. The Hyundai Ioniq 6, an all-electric fastback sedan introduced in 2023, is ditching its standard model and leaving the high-performance Ioniq 6 N as the only model in its lineup. The Ioniq 6 N was introduced in 2025 and features a dual-motor powertrain producing 641 hp. It can reach 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and hits a top speed of 160 mph. However, it is not available for sale yet; production is set to start later this year, so fans of high-performance Hyundai EVs will have to wait a little longer. Kia Niro EV 2026 Kia Niro EVThe electric version of the Kia Niro will be discontinued for 2027, as part of a shake-up that sees the model given a mid-cycle refresh. The Niro’s lineup had previously also included a plug-in hybrid option, which was killed off last year. As a result, the only Niro variant to remain on sale is the regular hybrid. In Korea, the 2027 model pairs a 1.6-liter inline-four engine with an electric motor. However, details for the North American model are still thin on the ground. We do, however, know that the Niro has received a cosmetic refresh, with a sleeker, more premium look and feel.Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63 SedanMercedes-AMG C63 (3)The Mercedes-AMG C 63, a hybrid performance sedan with a controversial turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood, is being phased out. In its place, Mercedes is introducing a new model called the C 53, which will no longer feature a four-cylinder unit but would instead be powered by an inline-six engine.Somewhat ironically, the C63’s demise arrived not just because of enthusiasts’ disappointment, but also because of failure to meet upcoming European emissions regulations. Volkswagen ID.4 2026_Volkswagen_ID.4The Volkswagen ID.4, a compact crossover from VW’s electric lineup, is being discontinued this year. The German automaker is freeing up the ID.4’s slot in its lineup to make room for the second generation of the Atlas, which has recently been introduced with several design and tech updates. The ID.4 is not the only member of the ID family to suffer from consumers’ low appetite for Volkswagen EVs: the ID.Buzz, a modern successor to the iconic Microbus, had its production run put on hold for the 2026 model year due to excessive stock, and there’s a chance it, too, might be heading for the chopping block in the not-too-distant future. Volvo EX30 2025 Volvo EX30The last car on our list is the Volvo EX30, an electric subcompact crossover whose brief time on the market was marked by numerous issues. The EX30 went on sale in the US for the 2025 model year, after its North American launch was delayed by reports of drivers elsewhere in the world experiencing issues with their vehicles. These complications included infotainment system failure, buttons not working, and even charging problems. Eventually, however, the EX30 made it to the States, but did not last long. Earlier this year, Volvo announced its intention to discontinue the model on the US market, partly due to the impact of tariffs.Sources: Tesla, Acura, Karma, Lexus, Chrysler, Volvo, BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Jeep
