WNEPAll different kinds of custom trucks are making their way into the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds this weekend. The 39th annual Four Wheel Jamboree is underway, bringing truck enthusiasts from all across the country. Andy Knapp, the event producer, says it's unlike anything in the entire world."It is kind of like a five-ring circus. We've got about 2,000 custom trucks rolling around this place, like what you see behind me. We've also got tons of competition over at the grandstand area. We've got monster truck shows, we've got seven classes of mud racing. We've got tough trucks, we've got side by side," said Andy Knapp, 4-Wheel Jamboree Event Producer. Many of the people showing off their custom trucks put a lot of time and effort into them. Smoke Jones has been coming to the show for many years and says it's not only the trucks that bring him back each year, but also the family atmosphere. He says it's also a place to get ideas from other trucks.AdvertisementAdvertisement"It's a 2000 Ford, over the winter, Dale had it at his shop, we put rear steering on it, tilt bed. I brought it home, stripped it all down, and did all the finish work on it. I'm hoping to move up to the pro class this year," said Smoke Jones from Watsontown.Aside from showing off their trucks, some people come to race them. Drivers say it's a lot of fun, but also competitive."You've got to have the right truck and the right time to do it. Some money is involved, too. Like everything else, it's anything you do. Money is a big object," said Walt Brennan, New Jersey. A lot of time goes into planning the Four Wheel Jamboree each year. Vendors and sponsors have to be coordinated as well as the schedule. There is something for everyone, even if trucks aren't your thing.AdvertisementAdvertisement"It just brings attention to the sport. This is a show and shine type of deal, so our side of this is just show and shine, sit around, look pretty at trucks. You'll have other mud competitions, but coming out, it's just family," said Dale Steigerwalt, Nazareth. The Four Wheel Jamboree runs until Sunday here in Bloomsburg.
