Subaru has revealed its biggest and most powerful model yet - and, while it's adventure-ready name is unlike any Subaru we've heard of before, it's not an entirely unfamiliar vehicle. Like the latest Subaru electric vehicles introduced recently, the 2027 Subaru Getaway shares most of its bits and pieces with a new Toyota model, in this case, the 2027 Highlander EV which made its debut earlier this year. The new GetawaySubaruThere are slight differences to the exterior of the 2027 Subaru Getaway that set it apart from the Highander EV, but the overall similarities are there, showing the shared DNA. SubaruInside, there's no getting away from the fact that the Highlander EV and the new Subaru Getaway share interior designs. Fortunately, that design is a good one, elevating the Getaway to a more modern and high-end cabin than Subaru products traditionally offer. SubaruInterior details for the 2027 Getaway are still sparse, but press images show high-end materials with contrast piping and perforations on the seat, and bolstered perches for the driver and front passenger. SubaruThere's seating for up to seven inside the 2027 Subaru Getaway, with some trims offering second-row captain's chairs that reduce overall occupant count to six. Subaru claims exceptional head- and legroom with enough room for six-footers in every row. SubaruAll Getaway models come with one-touch second-row folding seats and a power-folding third row - interior cargo space for the new Subaru Getaway comes to 45.6 cubes behind the second row - more than rival Kia EV9 offers.SubaruInterior features for the 2027 Subaru Getaway include a standard 14-inch Multimedia touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The front seats are heated on all trims, with heating and ventilation for other rows available higher up in the lineup.SubaruThe exterior of the new Subaru Getaway is characterized by the Subaru unique lighting signature up front, with a six-star illuminated logo on the grille, dynamic DRLs, and and ladder-type roof rails. Subaru19- or 20-inch wheels are available to change up the exterior of the Getaway for 2027, depending on trim level, and 8.3 inches of ground clearance helping to make slightly more rugged terrain more accessible. SubaruThe rear of the 2027 Subaru Getaway features a three-dimensional illuminated Subaru logo rear gate garnish, with a distinctive lighting signature. The back end is arguably where differences between the new Getaway exterior and the Toyota Highlander EV are most easily seen. SubaruThe Subaru Getaway electric powertrain means 420 horsepower across the lineup, standard all-wheel drive, a 0-60 time of less than 5 seconds, and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.
