People don't love the current Dodge Charger, especially traditional muscle car fans.Launching initially with an all-electric powertrain and omitting a traditional V8 option left many Mopar purists cool on the platform. Looking to inject some mechanical bite back into the lineup, Dodge has introduced the 2027 Charger Super Bee Launch Edition, packing more forced-induction horsepower and a track-focused chassis setup. But there's still no V8.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Super Bee builds upon the gas-powered Sixpack model. Under the hood, the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six receives a pair of larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers running up to 30 psi of boost alongside a recalibrated exhaust system. The changes push output to 600 horsepower while torque remains flat at 531 lb-ft. While those figures fall well short of the 707-horsepower benchmark set by the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 a decade ago, they are a step up from the standard High Output Hurricane engine.Working with the enlarged turbos, a modified air intake and updated software sharpens throttle response and launch performance. Dodge claims the Super Bee sprints from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, making it one-tenth of a second quicker off the line than the original 2015 Hellcat. Through the quarter-mile, the math favors the older supercharged V8: the Super Bee completes the run in 11.8 seconds compared to the 11.0-second pass logged by the 707-hp Hellcat.Dodge focused heavily on thermal management to ensure the Super Bee can handle sustained track sessions. Radiator cooling capacity increases by over 50 percent, supported by a redesigned front bumper featuring wider air intakes, a larger front splitter, and secondary auxiliary radiators positioned behind the grille.Decel is handled by 16-inch brake discs clamped by six-piston Brembo front calipers and four-piston rear units, utilizing 27-percent larger brake pads for improved heat dissipation. Power meets the pavement through 20x11-inch forged wheels wrapped in 305/35 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 summer tires at all four corners.AdvertisementAdvertisementKinematic kit revisions include continuous damping control dual-valve adaptive dampers, a 20-percent stiffer rear stabilizer bar, a 12-percent increase in front spring rates, and revised front handling-link bushings. To complement its track hardware, the Charger Super Bee incorporates a driver-selectable rear-wheel-drive mode that completely disengages the front axle for drifts and burnouts. Electronics also include Track and Drag modes, Launch Control, Line Lock, and a Torque Reserve function to build boost before launching. The Super Bee will be the first gas-powered Charger model equipped with a Driver Experience Recorder, utilizing a forward-facing 1080p camera synchronized with telemetry data.Launch Edition models make an unmissable statement in a high-visibility yellow-green paint shade called Sucker Punch, accented by gloss-black hood and rear graphics. Buyers looking for a more subdued appearance can opt for Diamond Black.AdvertisementAdvertisementInside, the cabin gets embroidered headrests, Sour Lemon contrast stitching, a performance steering wheel, and a model-specific instrument cluster layout. Dodge has not yet disclosed official pricing, final figures are expected closer to its market release.
