A well-sorted small-block Mopar is heading to the Mississippi Gulf Coast: this 1972 Dodge Dart Demon 340 tribute is for sale at Vicari Auction as Lot F344 during the Biloxi Fall 2026 sale, held October 8–10 alongside Cruisin' the Coast. Finished in blue over blue vinyl, it pairs the Demon's compact, fastback attitude with a 340 V8, cold air conditioning and roughly $30,000 in recent work backed by receipts. The Demon tribute wears its blue paint, black hood treatment and scoops well. See the full Vicari listing. The Demon was Dodge's answer to Plymouth's Duster, a Dart-based fastback coupe sold for the 1971 and 1972 model years before the name gave way to the Dart Sport. The 340-powered version was the one enthusiasts remember: light, affordable and quick, and the consignor describes this car as a Dart 340 Demon tribute, so buyers should read it as a car built to capture that spirit rather than a documented factory Demon 340.The Demon's compact fastback profile is the heart of its appeal. View Lot F344 at Vicari Auction. That honesty is part of what makes the car attractive. Tribute cars let enthusiasts enjoy the look and feel of a sought-after Mopar without paying the premium that verified, numbers-matching examples command, and this Dart Demon tribute appears to have been built as a car to drive and enjoy, not one to park under a cover.New tail lights and a rear spoiler finish the tail. More photos in the Vicari ad.The exterior looks sharp in the auction photos, with a bright blue finish, black accents, twin hood scoops and fresh weatherstripping. The seller lists new tail lights as part of the refresh, and all four tires are described as being in great condition, which saves a new owner one of the first expenses on most collector-car purchases. The rear three-quarter view shows the Demon's short deck and stance. See the Vicari listing. It also carries an unusually steady ownership story. According to the Vicari Auction listing, the car has been locally owned in Picayune, Mississippi, for the last 25 years, just a short drive from the Biloxi auction site. Long-term single-area ownership often goes hand in hand with the kind of consistent care this car's paperwork suggests.Twin hood scoops give the Demon tribute a purposeful face. The listing notes a new carburetor installed in 2022, new spark plugs and a new wiring harness, all items that go a long way toward making a 50-plus-year-old car start, run and stay reliable. The 340 V8 sits in a clean, blue-painted engine bay. See more engine photos in the Vicari ad.Power steering makes the car easier to live with in parking lots and at cruise-ins, and the Classic Auto Air kit brings real, cold air conditioning, a meaningful upgrade for anyone planning to drive a vintage Mopar through a Southern summer. The small-block is topped with a chrome air cleaner. The result is a cabin that looks fresh in the photos while keeping the simple, driver-focused layout that made the early-1970s A-body cars so approachable.Blue vinyl and new carpet give the interior a clean, cohesive look. See the interior in the Vicari listing. The seat covers mix blue and black panels that complement the exterior, and the listing photos show upholstery that appears tight and well fitted.Reupholstered seats bring the cabin up to date. View the Vicari listing. The Paperwork Is the StoryThe most compelling feature may be the binder. The seller reports roughly $30,000 in recent work with receipts included, plus "lots of documents," and several of those pages are photographed in the listing. For a buyer, documentation like this turns guesswork into a known history of what has been done and when, which is exactly what you want when bidding on a driver-quality muscle car.Receipts for recent work are included in the binder. See the documents in the Vicari ad.As with any auction purchase, bidders should review the receipts and inspect the car in person, as Vicari notes that descriptions come from the consignor. For anyone who wants a good-looking, well-documented 340 Mopar with air conditioning and a long local history, this 1972 Dodge Dart Demon tribute is one to watch in Biloxi.
