Few nameplates elicit stories and feelings like the Supra. Everyone has a Supra story! And if you were the age to be blessed by the Fast & Furious franchise, you probably know Toyota's sports cars from there, too. But all good (great?) things must come to an end, and the fifth-generation Supra is leaving the market. I got my happy little hands on the 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition, and I have to say, as a kid who very much enjoyed watching Paul Walker whip around in his orange Supra in the movies, I was elated. Thrilled! Stoked! Living life a quarter mile at a time, if you will. The 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition starts at $67,950, but ours was $71,160 with delivery and a few add-ons. Driver Assistance Package: Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Parking Sensors with Emergency Braking: $1,195 Carpet Cargo Mat: $110 Wheel Locks: $90 GR Strut Tie Brace: $620 Delivery, Processing, and Handling: $1,195 Total: $71,160 Here's how our week went together, if you can't already tell.In order to provide you with an honest and unbiased review, the vehicle reviewed in this article was driven on a daily basis throughout the course of daily life for a period of one week. The New 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition: What's Hot? 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition front endLet's be honest: it's all hot. Toyota went all out with the Supra's style, and the Final Edition only kicks it up another notch. Visually, it leans a little darker and more focused without trying too hard. The 19-inch matte black wheels change the whole stance, and the gloss carbon ducktail and mirror caps give it just enough contrast to stand out without looking overdone. You can opt for the GT4-Style Package with Toyota Gazoo Racing red-painted carbon-fiber mirror caps, GT4 exterior graphics, wind-buffeting kit, and matte-paint charge, but ours did not have it.Inside, it keeps that same approach. Alcantara on the driver’s seat with the GR logo, red stitching, red belts, and small hits around the shifter. It’s not a full redesign, just a tighter, more intentional spec. The cup holders held my can of beans quite well, and there was plenty of storage around the small cabin. I was also pleased with how easy it was to get into the cargo area from the front seats. You could toss your stuff back there from the driver's seat and be on your way. Yes, the cabin is small, but that's the point. It was comfortable, well-appointed, and would be easy to live with in the realm of sports cars. The styling is great, the engine is excellent, and the overall package here is delightful. It's not often that I have such high expectations for a vehicle, and they live up to them. Is The Toyota GR Supra A Driver's Car? David Alpert / HotCarsSome of the most important changes to the GR Supra Final Edition were made to optimize the overall driving experience. Braking is sharper, the suspension’s been dialed in, the chassis feels tighter, and the aero actually does something. You feel it right away, more confidence, more grip, and a lot more fun when you start pushing it. Toyota is all about the kaizen approach, or "continuous improvement." Last year, I met with the GR team to drive the lineup at Sonoma. We spoke with Naoyuki Sakamoto, Toyota's Chief Engineer of the GR Corolla and an integral part of GAZOO Racing, who noted that they wanted us to see the major changes in line tracing and corner performance from the '24 to the '26 Final Edition. In addition to that, reworked suspension and a tighter chassis, there’s more grip through corners thanks to revised camber and better damping. You get more feedback, greater stability, and a car that feels more connected. Ours also had a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for maximum grip, and a Strut Tie Brace added on, which was very much appreciated. These changes might seem small, but they actually made the overall product a lot better. Better handling, better steering feel, better overall experience. If it can impress a group of journalists at Sonoma, a notoriously intimidating track, it will make your drive to the grocery store infinitely more fun.And of course, power comes from a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six making 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. You can choose a six-speed manual with rev-matching or an eight-speed automatic that’ll do zero to sixty in 3.9 seconds. Ours was automatic, which was fine, but I would go with the manual if this were living in my garage. Regardless, this thing is FAST. The Supra often gets compared to the ever-fun-and-affordable Miata and Subaru's fun little BRZ, but the Supra is light-years ahead in terms of straight horsepower/torque. It's also light-years ahead in price, but the Supra seems to be in a very different league once behind the wheel. Toyota GR Supra Engine Specs Family Hauling & Interior Space 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition front cabinThe Supra isn't big on space (pun intended), but it makes good use of what it has. There is storage in the center console and in the doors, plus some netting down on the passenger-side floorboard. You get two cupholders and a secondary storage area behind them for your knick-knacks, plus the glove box. I drove the Supra to the airport for a quick overnight trip, and my carry-on suitcase and large purse fit in the back without issue. On the way home, my groceries for the week fit in the unutilized space in the back. Toyota says it has 10.2 cubic feet of space, but it felt like more.David Alpert / HotCarsOne thing I was thrilled to see in a 2026 vehicle was the sheer number of buttons, knobs, and dials for adjusting settings. You do get an 8.8-inch touchscreen up top to adjust finer vehicle settings, connect Apple CarPlay, and run navigation. Wireless Apple CarPlay connected well throughout the trip, too, but Android Auto isn't available, for the record. The screen worked well, was clear, and did its job. Just below that, you'll see your hazards with a real button, and below that is your volume knob and a set of buttons labeled 1 through 8. I was actually so pleased with these buttons! You can set these to anything on the touchscreen, so, for instance, one was set to the Radio display. Another went right to the Vehicle Settings menu. This allows you to hop to a certain area in the touchscreen menu without having to hunt through it. Genius? Genius! Then your climate controls are just below that, with dials for temperature changes and buttons for everything else. You could do this through the touchscreen, but I found myself using the buttons 10/10 times during our week together. One thing I found funny was how LOUD the cabin got with the windows down. It did that thing where it blows out your eardrums and kind of vibrates around the hatch area anytime you are above 40 MPH. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but this is the first time I've experienced something like that. Perhaps it's just the hatchback of it all. How To Build The Toyota GR Supra The Right Way David Alpert / HotCarsHonestly, if you are going to buy a Supra this year, go for the Final Edition. It's expensive, but it will likely hold its value well over the years. It has some small but important tweaks that make a difference, and I don't think you can go wrong.I would definitely add the Driver Assistance Package, but to be honest, I think these features should come on the Supra without the package. Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Parking Sensors with Emergency Braking are all pretty basic safety features in 2026. I also liked the Strut Tie Brace and the Wheel Locks. So, basically, this is my perfect spec. As I mentioned, I would opt for the manual transmission if I were taking this home, mostly because I think it will hold value better over time. I'm not positive about how many of each they are making (I believe it's only 1,300 total), but I would hazard a guess that most people buying new or used would want a manual. 2026 Toyota GR Supra Dimensions And Specs HotCars Take: Love It, Leave It, Or Mod It? David Alpert / HotCarsIt didn't take much to win me over, but that's because the Supra is pretty perfect just the way it is. Toyota didn't take the easy way out with this one; it just let it disappear without a respectful send-off. With ours finished in Renaissance Red, I can safely say I would probably get some insane tickets if this were my car. Nothing about the Final Edition is meant to blend in, and that's the fun of it. Even though the fifth-gen Supra is dead for good (but is it ever really dead?), I am at peace with the Final Edition being the last example to roll off the production line with this nameplate.
