Producing 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, and with an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, it launches the family SUV to 60 mph in a ferocious 3.5 seconds and doesn’t call it quits until 180 mph.AdvertisementAdvertisementBesides speed, it also offers genuine capability, with up to three seating rows and a towing capacity of up to 8,700 lbs. The 2025 Durango SRT Hellcat comes in three limited editions - Hammerhead, Silver Bullet, and Brass Monkey - with undisclosed production numbers, almost as if Dodge wants to keep a back door open for an additional model year, even though this is supposed to be its last. Rivals include super-SUVs such as the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and BMW X5 M.2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Silver BulletDodgeWhat's New for 2025The 2025 Durango lineup comprises only GT, R/T, and Hellcat trims, with only the latter covered here (we review the regular Durango separately). With 710 hp, seating for up to seven, and a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 lbs, nothing blends family hauling and brute force in one practical package quite like this. On the minus side, the platform is really aging, some cabin plastics are well below what we’d expect from an $80K car, and fuel consumption is dismal. But for someone who wants the Hellcat engine, this is the last application it will likely ever be in, and it makes for one heck of a weekend getaway car that can also do the school run.2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey interiorCompetitorsAudi SQ7Porsche CayenneMercedes-AMG GLE 53BMW X5 M60iShop the Car MarketplaceThis story was originally published by Autoblog on Jun 2, 2026, where it first appeared in the Cars section.
