VW's ID.Buzz usually needs some tweaks before you can use it as a proper camper van for sleeping in. But the German manufacturer is now offering a version that's ready to sleep in. Volkswagen/dpaVolkswagen has introduced a new 'Good Night' package that will turn the electric model into a fully-fledged camper van.Though only available in Germany for now, the 'Good Night' equipment pack introduces a folding bed with a built-in mattress, as well as a table and chair set that can be easily stowed away.Blackout blinds will help to make sleeping in the van more comfortable, too, while a specially configured overnight mode will set the air conditioning and even dim the interior lights for an stay underneath the stars.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe system uses the car's on-board charge to run the air conditioning for up to 48 hours, ensuring that the cabin is kept at a comfortable temperature. With vehicle-to-load technology, the Buzz can also be used to power external devices such as air bed pumps or coffee machines via a conventional three-pin socket. It marks the first time that such a camper-esque conversion has been available for the ID.Buzz directly from Volkswagen, with many current options only available through aftermarket companies. Current production van-based campers from Volkswagen include the California and Grand California, with the ID.Buzz – up until now – left out from the group. While only available in Germany currently, it's expected that the 'Good Night' pack will be available to customers elsewhere soon on standard and long-wheelbase ID.Buzz models.
