The value of a brand is a critical measure of its recognition, overall health, and ability to adapt to changing market conditions. For this reason, the consulting firm Interbrand has been publishing its annual Best Global Brands ranking—featuring top brands across industries, including automotive—for the past 26 years.
In the Best Global Brands 2025 ranking, there are several familiar names at the top. Apple retains the number one spot overall, followed by Microsoft and Amazon. Among automotive brands, Toyota once again leads the pack, showing a 2 percent increase in brand value.
Overall, Toyota holds steady at sixth place, with an estimated brand value of $74.2 billion. While substantial, that number is still well behind Apple’s estimated brand value of $470.9 billion.
Mercedes-Benz remains second among car brands (tenth overall), despite a 15 percent decline in value to $50.1 billion. BMW takes third place in the automotive category (fourteenth overall), with a 10 percent drop, bringing its brand value down to $46.8 billion. Among the few car brands experiencing growth, Hyundai ranks sixth with a 7 percent increase, while Ferrari— the only Italian brand on the list—comes in eighth with an impressive 17 percent gain.
Outside the top 10, Nissan holds the 82nd position overall with a 33 percent decline from last year. Kia ranks 89th with a 5 percent increase, and BYD enters the list for the first time at 90th place.
Also worth mentioning are brands primarily known for other products that are now making strides in the automotive sector. Smartphone giant Xiaomi, ranked 81st, has entered the electric vehicle market with models like the SU7.
