As Mercedes-Benz continues through its 30 reveals in just a few years with the GLE and GLS SUVs, we're starting to see more and more new models getting ready for their own turn in the spotlight. The CarBuzz spy photographers have just snapped the latest Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift, and, well, don't expect significant changes inside or out. Do expect to see a galaxy's worth of stars when one drives by. Star Lights, Star Brights CarBuzz/Valnet Like the rest of the new Mercedes-Benz models, the C-Class sedan will get plenty of new company branding. The stars are out in the headlights as well as the taillights. If recent Benz trends hold true, there will be more of the classic Mercedes-Benz logos in the grille and even possibly the wheels. The new lighting signature made its debut with the concept CLA a few years back, and it's now showing up on every new or refreshed model. Those new lights and the grille make up almost every change to the outside of the new C-Class. You can tell it's largely carryover, even by usual facelift standards, because almost none of the car is covered in camouflage.CarBuzz/Valnet Our spies also snapped the interior, and the only change there is the steering wheel. Mercedes-Benz has been moving away from pure haptic-touch wheel controls and is reintroducing a metal roller dial for volume and a real toggle switch on the other side of the wheel. This one gets that new wheel.Normally, a prototype's interior is covered in fabric to hide the changes. This car is completely uncovered inside, the clearest sign that there's nothing new. It should get an operating system update behind the scenes, though, bringing it up to Benz's latest infotainment iteration. Expect A New AMG Six, Same Four-Cylinder CarBuzz/Valnet There is still an electric C-Class on the way. Our spies have snapped it before, and it won't look much like this car at all. The EV will have a grille like the controversial new face of the 2027 GLC, which has a taller, more upright grille filled with light-up pixels. As far as engines, we expect that the most powerful version of the C-Class will disappear. Mercedes-Benz recently revealed the gas-powered GLC 53 that replaced the GLC 63 S E Performance as well as the GLC 43. Instead of a turbo-four tuned to the sky and a powerful electric motor, the new SUV has a 3.0-liter inline six without an electric motor. The C 63 sedan will likely get the same boot. Its 671-horsepower four-cylinder driveline would make way for a 443-hp six. Both are a far cry from the old V8 model, but buyers have spoken with their wallets on the matter. As it stands, the other engine option in the C-Class sedan is the 255-hp 2.0-liter four, badged as the C 300. It is possible, though not likely for the US, that the C-Class adds the newest engine from the CLA. That's a 1.5-liter turbo-four with a hybrid electric motor that makes up to 220 horsepower. Buyers who want more frugal but also more power will need to wait for the C-Class EV.2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class spy photo (4)
