Prices for the new line-up start at £31,995 for the hybrid version, while the fully electric E-408 is priced from £34,195 before application of the UK government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant, reducing the entry price to £32,695.The updated E-408 was first presented in January. It features a 58 kWh battery with 157 kW and 343 Nm of torque, delivering a WLTP range of up to 283 miles depending on trim level. Peugeot specifies DC fast charging capability of up to 120 kW. Three regenerative braking levels can be selected via steering wheel paddles, while battery preconditioning and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality are also included. The V2L adapter is available separately through Peugeot retailers.The E-408 comes in three trim levels: Allure, GT and GT Premium. The electric version starts at £34,195 in Allure trim, rising to £36,595 for GT and £39,095 for GT Premium before the grant is applied. WLTP range varies slightly by specification, with Peugeot quoting up to 283 miles for Allure and GT versions and 281 miles for GT Premium.The 408 has also gotten a physical makeover. It now has a new front grille, revised bumper design and illuminated Peugeot badging front and rear on higher trim levels. The E-408 also receives exclusive 19-inch ‘Adakite’ alloy wheels with a dedicated ‘Graphite’ finish.Inside, Peugeot has updated the cabin materials and digital interfaces. All versions feature the brand’s i-Cockpit layout with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. GT models add connected navigation and configurable virtual i-Toggles shortcuts, while GT Premium versions include a 3D digital instrument display.Alongside the electric version, Peugeot continues to offer the 408 with hybrid and plug-in hybrid drivetrains. The plug-in hybrid combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 92 kW electric motor for a system output of 221 hp and up to 50 miles of electric WLTP range from a 16.2 kWh battery.
