Its EREV variant boasts an 80.3 kWh battery and an electric range of 480 km. The car will enter the market shortly as the brand’s first MPV. The Leapmotor D99 new energy minivan reached dealers across China for display as its market launch is scheduled for July. It is a large vehicle with a short bonnet and sleek front pillars. It adopts retractable door handles, a floating roof, an active air intake, and split headlights. Its headlamps feature projection, supporting the driving assistance system. Leapmotor D99 at dealers The Leapmotor D99’s dimensions are 5280/1995/1880 mm with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. For clarity, this Stellantis-backed family driver is 30 mm longer than BYD’s Denza D9 minivan. It rides on 19-inch chrome-plated wheels. Five exterior colors are available: black, white, blue, silver, and gray. Another feature of this vehicle is a LiDAR sensor on the roof. The interior of the Leapmotor D99 comes with three color options: cloud gray, brown, and rain gray. The dashboard adopts a 17.3-inch floating screen, a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, and a 50-inch augmented reality display. The gear shifter sits behind the four-spoke steering wheel. The center tunnel has a pair of cup holders and a wireless phone charger. Interior of the Lepamotor D99 The second row of the D99 offers two captain chairs with zero-gravity, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. They can also rotate up to 180 degrees, similar to the Li Auto Mega Home minivan with a price tag of 559,800 yuan (82,640 USD). The Leapmotor D99 also has a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted screen, an 11.4-liter refrigerator, and 23 speakers. The third-row seats support heating and power adjustment. The Leapmotor D99 will be offered with two powertrain variants. The first is EREV with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol-powered ICE under the hood that acts as a generator. It sends power to an 80.3 kWh battery, which is mated with two electric motors with a combined peak power of 300 kW (402 hp). The electric range reaches 480 km under CLTC conditions. The BEV version boasts a 115 kWh battery, two e-motors for 410 kW (550 hp), and 700 km. Leapmotor is aggressively developing its domestic model line with the recent launch of the D19 crossover, which also offered an 80.3 kWh battery pack. Its global sales are also on the rise, with 81,569 units sold in May 2026, according to China EV DataTracker.
