Last year, Lamborghini revealed its latest ultra-rare and ultra-fast supercar, the Fenomeno. It's the most powerful car Lamborghini has ever made, and boasts the most impressive performance of any Lambo. Of the 29 units that were announced, they'll all be coupes. Lamborghini, usually creates roadster versions, too, and we're certain that's what the supercar builder just teased on Instagram. We could see it fully revealed extremely soon, too. Lamborghini Didn't Say Much Surprisingly, while the car is fairly visible in the teaser image, Lamborghini has kept a fair bit hidden. For one thing, the photo is from the front. It makes it easy to identify the car as the Fenomeno, and the outlines of the taillights in the background make that identification incontrovertible. That angle also, conveniently, makes it impossible to see the top of the roof and a potential lack thereof. It also means that we can't see any other design changes that may have been made to accommodate a roofless Fenomeno.LamborghiniThen, there's the text in the Instagram post. It's useless. It consists entirely of short, generic statements about style and exclusivity. All it says about a reveal time is just "soon." It's not exactly helpful for those of us hoping to get tidbits or even when to see the whole thing.Lamborghini Lamborghini Probably Isn't Kidding About "Soon" Even though Lamborghini didn't give a date, we may know when we'll see it: this week. Last month came the report that the roadster would be revealed this weekend during the automaker's anniversary celebration at Imola. It's a big celebration this year, since it's the 63rd anniversary of the company, which was founded in 1963. Also, there's a big time span between this teaser dropping and Monterey Car Week, which would be the next most-likely event and was actually where the coupe was revealed last year. So, this weekend makes the most sense. This Will Surely Be The Company's Fastest Roadster While some of the styling will likely change, and obviously there will be a removable roof, the Fenomeno Roadster should be mechanically identical, or nearly identical, to the coupe version. That means it will get a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 paired with a single motor and eight-speed automatic to power the rear wheels, and a pair of electric motors to power the front motors. In total, it makes 1,065 horsepower, and torque numbers are 535 pound-feet from the engine, and 258 from the motors. This powertrain launches the carbon fiber Fenomeno coupe to 62 mph in 2.4 seconds on the way to 217 mph. The roadster will probably accelerate as quickly, but it's possible that the top speed could change based on the new roof.We also expect that Lamborghini will build 29 examples of the roadster, just like with the coupe. Odds are, each one will be highly customized by the lucky customers. Pricing will probably be similar to the coupe, and possibly higher. Outlets including Autoevolution and Supercar Blondie have reported the coupe had a base price around $3.5 million. We should know, well, soon.
