(NewsNation) — Kia is recalling more than 6,000 vehicles over a seatbelt defect that could increase the risk of injury in a crash, federal regulators announced last week.The recall applies to certain 2027 Telluride and Telluride Hybrid vehicles manufactured from March 24 to May 12, 2026, according to a recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. "A seat belt strap that does not extend can fail to restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury."An "incorrect vehicle sensor" installed in certain driver seat assemblies causes the issue. Dealers will replace the seatbelt assembly at no cost to remedy the issue.
