It and the full-bore Range Rover share a few key attributes, but the smaller packs a more rakish look and some sporty elements. During my week with the SUV, I appreciated the wealth of powertrain options and the ultra-plush interior, but hardly found the SUV to be deserving of its Sport name. While reviews force us to be concise and neutral, it's still fun to point out what I enjoyed most during my time with the SUV.The Range Rover Sport Has 1 Million Powertrain OptionsJust one of the Sport's many powertrains.Chase BierenkovenThe Sport lineup is home to an absolutely hilarious six available powertrains. Two of these are plug-in hybrids. That is, to put it lightly, leaving buyers spoiled for choice. The litany of powertrains is based around two gas engines: an inline-six and a V8. This P400 Dynamic SE is the latter, and while it certainly is not the burliest nor the most fun powertrain in the lineup, it was at least powerful, making a solid 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The point here is not this engine, though, but the sheer wealth of options buyers have.Land Rover's Materials Quality Is ExcellentChase BierenkovenThere's one thing I'm almost always looking for in a luxury SUV like this: choice in quality materials, and lots of them. At this level (this model crests six figures), I expect nearly second-to-none materials used in entertaining ways that make me want to look at the car I've, hypothetically at least, shelled out all that cash for. This Sport model does so, with beautiful, soft leathers, luxurious wood, and these excellent gold-ish accents that change color depending on the light. The car has to feel good to touch, too, and this wool-like material on the door is a great example – soft, interesting to feel, and varied in both color and texture. It's exactly what I want in a luxury SUV, even if this is all a little monochromatic.Land Rover Armrests RuleChase BierenkovenA benign, yet totally unique feature, Land Rover's signature adjustable armrests aren't just a heritage touch. I love how practical these are, and how much they help you dial in the fit of your seat. Sometimes, the center console is an awkward spot to put your arm depending on the height of the seat. This totally eliminates that problem, and it helped keep me more than comfy on a very long multi-hour drive with the SUV. These are also, like the seat they're attached to, height adjustable.I Love Land Rover's Meridian Sound SystemChase BierenkovenAdvertisementAdvertisementThis Dynamic model's Meridian 3D surround sound system is a seriously good one. Land Rover allows a solid range of EQ adjustments to be made, letting you set up a sound profile that fits what you like to listen to. It doesn't wash out audio from podcasts, either, and the whole range is clear and free of any real distortion. While the Sport isn't so sporty, the luxuriously quiet interior makes the Range Rover Sport an excellent place to jam out. This story was originally published by Autoblog on Aug 31, 2026, where it first appeared in the Features section.
