The Hyundai Elantra N TCR doesn't have the biggest wing Hyundai has ever built, but it's the biggest one on something you can buy. Now it has a price, too, as the more hardcore version of the sportiest sport compact sedan on the market today gets ready for its first appearance at US dealers. It will land on the market priced midway between Honda's nimble Si sedan and the wing-size-competing Type R hatch at just under $40,000. This Wing Is Straight From The Race Car HyundaiHyundai built the Elantra N TCR to celebrate racing successes you probably weren't even aware of. The racing Hyundai N models have now won the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series TCR class six years in a row, where they compete with Civics, Cupras, Audis RS3s, and more. That towering airfoil is the signature of the TCR Edition car. It's adjustable, made from carbon fiber, and it will keep you out of your local automated car wash, but it's not the only extra feature with this special car.The Elantra N TCR gets a special set of 19-inch forged alloy wheels. The wheels are specially designed to fit around the new brakes, which are monoblock four-piston units clamping down on two-piece front rotors.Hyundai is also giving the TCR some more cosmetic upgrades. It starts with an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with a Performance Blue center stripe, and a matching shift boot, handbrake cover, and center console armrest. The front seat belts are also blue, and there's an N Performance-branded door sill plate at each opening. You can get the Elantra N TCR Edition in any color you want, as long as it's Performance Blue. That's the signature color of N, and it's also the best color the car is offered in. No Word On Just How Limited Hyundai Hyundai described it as a limited edition, but did not say how limited that model will be. It won't limit you to just one transmission, though, because Hyundai will let you have the six-speed manual or an N-tuned, eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.Pricing starts from $39,250 for the stick or $40,750 for the automatic. Destination adds $1,245 to that price. That makes each version of the TCR $4,150 more than the standard Elantra N, which will remain in the lineup for 2026.Against its competition, the 276-horsepower Elantra N, even in TCR form, looks like itoffers a strong bargain. The Civic Type R makes 315 horsepower, but starts from $46,895. The Civic Si is much cheaper at $31,495, but it offers just 200 hp. Neither Honda will give you an automatic transmission, either.Existing N-car owners can add a smaller wing to their cars through the N Performance Parts catalog. Hyundai will also offer the Alcantara-wrapped wheel, and N-branded stickers. If you want to get behind the wheel of one of the Hyundai group's bigger wings, you'll need to sign up at Delta or Hawaiian. Hyundai Space & Aircraft briefly built the wings for the Boeing 717, which is also much more powerful and quicker than an N TCR, though not around a racetrack.
