LiveWire's S4 Honcho started production just a few weeks ago, and the more dirt-appropriate of the pair is now rolling out across dealerships. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission. Learn moreJust a few weeks ago, LiveWire announced that the S4 Honcho would finally be entering production. Exciting as the little electric bike was upon its initial reveal, we were admittedly more preoccupied with how it fit into other brand developments at the time. The S4 Honcho Trail is arriving in dealerships now. - Credit: LiveWireBut now I'm glad to say we can finally recognize the S4 for what it means, not just for the LiveWire brand but also for Harley.AdvertisementAdvertisementThat's because the S4 Honcho is no longer a prototype or a promise; it's real, and the Trail version is finally rolling out to dealers as we speak.Delivery on new LiveWire promiseAs someone who's a huge fan of established 125cc-class bikes like the Honda Monkey, I'm extremely excited about the development. The S4 Honcho promises to make LiveWire way more attainable. After all, the Trail starts at just $4,999, and the Street is only a little more at $5,499. Regardless, that means both come in at significantly less than bikes like the S2 Mulholland. Even the ONE's deep discounts still have it at more than twice those numbers. In addition to bringing an accessible MSRP, LiveWire's S4 Honcho Trail and Street promise to be super easy to ride. - Credit: LiveWireBeyond the accessible MSRP, they're bikes that promise to be highly approachable to ride. Along with rolling on 12-inch wheels, they bring lower seat heights (29 inches for the Trail and 30 inches for the Street) and modest curb weights of 253 pounds and 266 pounds, respectively. AdvertisementAdvertisementGranted, seeing as the Honcho S4s rock 3.48-kWh batteries, LiveWire isn't making any bold performance claims. They're good for a range of around 53 miles, a 3-second 0-30 mph time and a top speed of 59 mph.Assuming you can keep your throttle hand in check, LiveWire does state that the range can reach 73 miles, though that requires a sustained 20 mph.The Street version dons lights, mirrors and a license plate holder to make it road-compliant. - Credit: LiveWireStill, for runabout duty that's more than enough. Even with lights, mirrors and a license plate holder, the Street isn't a bike that's meant to compete with traditional motorcycles.Instead, it aims at offerings like the Honda Grom; though it doesn't have the edge when it comes to range, the S4 does bring a worthwhile alternative for silent, emission-free riding.
