Image: VolkswagenThe list price of €33,995 for the comprehensively revised ID.3 Neo represents only a slight increase over the ‘old’ ID.3, which previously started at €33,330 in Germany. For customers, however, the actual entry price is likely to remain below €30,000 for some time: in Germany, the ‘ID. purchase bonus’ also applies to the ID.3 Neo, allowing €4,000 to be deducted from the list price. Currently, the bonus is only valid until 30 June. However, VW has extended its discount campaign multiple times—and a further extension into the third quarter is not out of the question. With the transition from the ID.3 to the ID.3 Neo, VW has not only updated the technical foundation (from the MEB to the further-developed MEB+) and the design—all details can be found in our article on the world premiere—but also overhauled the entire offering logic of the ID.3. The designations ID.e Pure, Pro, Pro S, and GTX have been discontinued. Replacing them are the equipment lines familiar from the German manufacturer’s internal combustion models: Trend, Life, and Style, with an ID.3 GTI likely to follow later.Important: Previously, the Pure, Pro, and Pro S variants were not only equipment lines but also tied to specific drivetrain-battery combinations. VW has now decoupled these, allowing customers to configure the vehicle more individually according to their preferences. While the Trend equipment line is still only available with one drivetrain, from the Life level upwards, customers can choose freely between all three available drivetrains—from the base drivetrain with a 50 kWh battery to the longest-range drivetrain with a 79 kWh battery. That means, for example, that customers can now combine the simplest drivetrain with the top-tier Style equipment. The base model rides on 18-inch steel wheels and comes equipped with LED headlights including high-beam assist, a rain sensor, and electrically adjustable, foldable and heated mirrors. Inside, VW fits automatic climate control and a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, while standard driver assistance includes ACC, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, and front and rear parking sensors. Extras such as navigation (€750) or the winter package with heated seats, heated steering wheel and two-zone climate control (€540) remain optional. With the Life trim, Volkswagen adds more comfort and convenience: 18-inch alloy wheels come as standard, along with two-zone automatic climate control and heated seats and steering wheel. A reversing camera joins the parking sensors, while navigation remains optional—though drivers can also rely on smartphone integration. From this trim upwards, VW offers a tow hitch concealed behind the rear number plate, designed for vertical loads such as bike racks rather than trailer towing. Buyers can further upgrade with optional interior packages, additional assistance systems, and wheels of up to 20 inches. In the Style version, the ID.3 Neo comes with 19-inch wheels and features such as a keyless locking system, a dynamic high-beam assistant, and the navigation system as standard. The Style equipment line also includes illuminated logos at the front and rear, as seen in the press photos. Optional extras include a suspension with adaptive dampers, a glass roof, or a Harman Kardon audio system. The heat pump is still not included as standard in any of the equipment lines and must always be added at an extra cost—starting from €1,090.One aspect VW has not changed with the major update to the ID.3 Neo is that Moonstone Grey remains the free basic colour. The colours Scale Silver, Glacier White, Grenadine Black, and the Nordsee Blue shown in the photos cost €860 more. The Dark Olivine Green introduced with the previous facelift is listed at €1,010 in the configurator—all six paint finishes can be ordered independently of the equipment lines.Series production of the ID.3 Neo in Zwickau begins in May. The market launch is planned for the summer.volkswagen.de (German configurator), linkedin.com (in German)
