The vehicle also features the “blue light” indicators commonly seen on Chinese smart EVs. SAIC Volkswagen ID. ERA 5S According to the company, the new sedan will be equipped with the “Xingyun Zhixing” advanced driver assistance system and the “Yunqi Smart Cockpit” intelligent cabin platform. SAIC Volkswagen’s “Xingyun Zhixing” smart driving ecosystem currently includes multiple technology partners, including ZYT, Momenta, and CARIZON. SAIC Volkswagen ID. ERA 5S From a product positioning perspective, the ID. ERA 5S represents a critical move in SAIC Volkswagen’s NEV transition strategy. Over the past two years, joint-venture brands have still managed to defend market share in the SUV segment through their legacy gasoline vehicle business. However, the RMB 150,000–250,000 ($22,100–$36,900) NEV sedan market has largely been dominated by Chinese domestic automakers. Under the current market landscape, the ID. ERA 5S will compete directly against models such as the BYD Han, XPeng P7+, and Deepal SL03 after launch.
