UNYX 09 adopts a GT coupe-inspired design with an extended hood, low nose and short front overhang, combined with a fastback roofline. It measures 5,081 mm in length and has a 3,030-mm wheelbase. Volkswagen Anhui describes the wheelbase as the longest in its segment and highlights the model’s wide body.The front end features slim headlights, a horizontal interactive light display and an illuminated VW logo. Lights, cameras and sensors are integrated into the body lines, while 422 individually controllable LED units form the interactive lighting system at the front and rear.Smart cockpit and driver assistanceThe vehicle features the Yunqi smart cockpit and an AR-HUD with an equivalent 85-inch display area. It can cover three lanes in a single view, with a claimed brightness of 12,000 nits and image distortion below 1%. Its DLP digital projection headlights can project an enhanced light field onto the road and display information such as lane-change guidance and collision warnings.The vehicle’s “parking spot-to-parking spot” assisted-driving function can memorize up to 10 routes, each up to about 100 km long. Drivers can intervene at any time, with the system able to resume assistance when conditions are met. Its APA automated parking function supports perpendicular, parallel and angled spaces with or without marked lines, as well as cross-floor memory parking, automated exit and 100-meter path-tracking reverse driving.Battery, range and chargingThe ID. UNYX 09 is Volkswagen’s first model equipped with 5C fast-charging technology. Volkswagen Anhui says 10 minutes of charging can add 500 km of range, while a 10%-80% charge takes less than 12 minutes. Volkswagen Anhui says the chassis was locally tuned by its global driving and handling team.For durability, Volkswagen Anhui says the model underwent two winters and two summers of extreme-condition testing and more than 1.1 million km of durability validation.
