The lineup also gains more accessible off-road models and the pickup's first-ever Carhartt edition.Ford is simplifying the 2027 F-150's engine lineup with a significant change under the hood. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 is being dropped, making way for a new 3.0-liter EcoBoost. Despite the larger displacement, the replacement produces the same 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque as the outgoing 2.7-liter engine. Ford says, however, that the new powertrain should feel more refined in everyday driving because it can deliver the same output without working as hard.The 3.5-liter EcoBoost remains the F-150's leading choice for towing, offering up to 13,500 pounds of towing capacity while producing 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Ford is also carrying over the rest of its familiar powertrains without changes to their output. The V8 continues with 400 hp and 410 lb-ft, while the PowerBoost Hybrid delivers 430 hp and 570 lb-ft. The new versions retain the key hardware and performance characteristics of their respective off-road models while scaling back some comfort and convenience features.The Tremor is built around the STX package and focuses on combining trail capability with everyday work and recreational use. It gives up dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, the eight-speaker B&O audio system, off-road running boards, and the power-sliding rear window.The entry-level Raptor takes a different approach, retaining its high-performance off-road hardware while cutting features such as the head-up display, fog lamps, 2-kW Pro Power Onboard system, Mobile Office package, power passenger seat and under-seat storage. It also gets a manual tilt steering column and an eight-speaker audio system instead of the 14-speaker B&O setup.Ford states that more than 75% of F-150 owners use their trucks for towing. Thus, the automaker is adding BlueCruise with Towing to the 2027 model, which enables hands-free driving while pulling a boat, trailer, or camper on more than 130,000 miles of pre-qualified divided highways designated as Blue Zones. Designed around durability and work-focused styling, the F-150 Carhartt combines rugged design elements with practical upgrades.The exterior gets unique 20-inch wheels, Carhartt-branded fender vents and badging, along with rocker and tailgate graphics. Signature headlights, a cowl hood, modified grille, dual exhaust, and off-road running boards give it a tougher appearance, while a Carhartt-branded spray-in bedliner adds protection for cargo.Inside, two-tone Carhartt-themed seat covers are paired with revised door trim, a center-console lid and steering wheel with contrast stitching. Carhartt-logo all-weather floor mats round out the cabin. The package costs $4,195, while the 2027 F-150 Carhartt starts at $62,660 before destination and delivery charges.
