While pretty much everything about the second-generation electric crossover is unconfirmed at this point, the report posits that the Equinox EV will ride on GM's planned BEV-N architecture. The current model rides on GM's BEV3 platform, which also underpins the Chevy Blazer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Cadillac Optiq, Cadillac Vistiq, and the Cadillac Celestiq. After ramping up production through the second half of 2024, Chevy sold an impressive 57,945 Equinox EV crossovers in 2025. That made it the bestselling EV in 2025 from a company other than Tesla, which continues to dominate the sales charts with the Model 3 and Model Y.
