Buyers seem to like electric luxury cars, too, and GM North America President Duncan Aldred announced recently that sales of the brand's EVs have eclipsed the 100k unit mark in just four short years. They're well-rounded, easy to live with, and also live up to the Cadillac luxury standard they have been holding for themselves as of late. Cadillac's fully electric lineup is comprised of the Lyriq, Optiq, Vistiq, and Escalade IQ. There's V models littered about, and plenty of tech-forward liveliness among the spread. Thanks to the work GM and Cadillac have put in they are about to say that "roughly three-quarters of buyers are new to Cadillac, with many coming from Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Lexus." Conquest sales and driving consumer preference/conversion are a huge part of what makes automakers' sales and marketing divisions tick, and this is a massive vote of confidence for the work Caddy has done as fo late. The benefit and positive sides of the all-electric experience are definitely there, and buyers who have the money to spend on luxury EVs apparently really like them. So now that Cadillac has sold 100,000 EVs, the question is: "What next?" Maybe that's the Valtteri Bottas fan in us-- that's his tagline over the last few years-- though it's very clear that Caddy is leaning hard into its F1 division. Maybe it's time to infuse some more V into the EVs, so don't be surprised to see an Escalade IQ-V in the coming years, or the first all-electric Blackwing. 2027 Porsche Cayenne S Electric: All the Details
