2027 Cadillac Escalade Price Increases as Digital Key Added, Paint and Trim Options ChangedMotorBiscuitAlex HarringtonThu, September 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM UTCAdd us on GoogleCadillac is finally letting Escalade owners leave the key fob at home… eventually. The 2027 Escalade lineup introduces a Digital Key feature, though the automaker plans to switch it on through a later over-the-air update rather than have it ready when the first trucks reach driveways. Alongside that addition, Cadillac has changed up its exterior color choices, adjusted pricing across the range, and changed how the Onyx appearance packages are packaged and priced trim by trim.Digital Key Arrives, But Not Right AwayDigital Key will eventually let owners lock, unlock and start their Escalade using a smartphone instead of a traditional fob, with the door open down the road for key-sharing capability and possible Apple Wallet compatibility. None of that will function at launch, though – Cadillac intends to turn the feature on for existing 2027 trucks via a future software update sent over the air.Rear 3/4 view of the Cadillac ESCALADE IQL in Luna Metallic exterior color.AdvertisementAdvertisementThings might not be what they seem, though. GM has stumbled on digital key features before: the feature was expected for the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV and never materialized on either truck, and Cadillac had at one point told buyers the 2026 Escalade would ship with a physical Key Card before quietly confirming that plan was scrapped. Whether the 2027 Escalade's OTA-delivered key fares better remains to be seen.Pricing Crosses Into Six FiguresRear side view of a man loading luggage into the Cadillac ESCALADE IQL rear storage space. The 2027 Escalade will see another big change: a starting price north of $100,000. Cadillac lists the entry-level Luxury trim at $105,595 to start. That jump comes partly because Cadillac cut the base 1SA trim entirely for 2027, along with rear-wheel-drive versions of the Platinum Luxury and Platinum Sport trims – meaning Luxury 2WD is now the cheapest way into a new model. The remaining trim structure covers Luxury, Sport, Platinum Luxury, Platinum Sport and the Escalade-V. Luxury and Sport still offer buyers a choice between two- and four-wheel drive, while both Platinum trims come strictly with 4WD and the Escalade-V is sold exclusively with all-wheel drive. Cadillac has also dropped the torque-based badges that used to decorate the exterior across the range.A Refreshed Exterior Color PaletteBuyers picking out paint for 2027 have seven choices:AdvertisementAdvertisementArgent Silver MetallicBlack RavenDeep Sea MetallicGalactic Gray MetallicRadiant Red TintcoatSandstoneVibrant White TricoatFront facing view of the Cadillac ESCALADE IQL interior showcasing the Panoramic Glass Roof and full 55-inch curved pillar-to-pillar screen.Sandstone is new to the lineup this year, replacing two colors Cadillac has quietly dropped – Aegean Stone and Magnus Metal Frost.Black Raven is the only shade that comes at no extra cost. Argent Silver Metallic, Deep Sea Metallic, Galactic Gray Metallic and Sandstone each add $725, while Radiant Red Tintcoat and Vibrant White Tricoat sit at the top of the list at $1,325 apiece.AdvertisementAdvertisementNot every color reaches every trim, either – Argent Silver Metallic, Black Raven, Radiant Red Tintcoat and Vibrant White Tricoat span the whole lineup, but Deep Sea Metallic and Galactic Gray Metallic skip the Escalade-V entirely while remaining available on Luxury, Sport, Platinum Luxury and Platinum Sport.Side profile view of the Cadillac ESCALADE IQL in Luna Metallic exterior color.Onyx Package Gets ReorganizedThe blacked-out Onyx treatment has been restructured for 2027, with different hardware and pricing depending on trim. On the Escalade Sport, the Onyx Package now runs $4,200 and brings a Gloss Black Escalade badge, 22-inch 12-spoke Gloss Black wheels, a black illuminated Cadillac emblem and Cadillac crest puddle lamps. Cadillac has also cleaned up a quirk from the outgoing setup – adding the Touring Package to a Sport-trim Escalade no longer forces a swap to 24-inch Black wheels in place of the Onyx Package's 22-inch set.Move up to Platinum Sport or the Escalade-V, and the Onyx Package carries a $5,200 price tag instead, pairing Gloss Black badging and a black illuminated Cadillac emblem with larger 24-inch Black wheels.AdvertisementAdvertisementCadillac has also altered where the lighter Onyx Lite Package sits. It's no longer offered on the Escalade-V for 2027, moving instead to the Sport trim at $1,100. That version includes Gloss Black badging, the black illuminated Cadillac emblem and Cadillac crest puddle lamps, without the wheel upgrade found in the full Onyx Package.Powertrains and Production Stay the SameUnder the sheet metal, little has changed. Standard Escalade models continue with the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter L87 V8, while the Escalade-V keeps its supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8. Both trucks remain built on GM's T1 platform, and production continues at the Arlington Assembly plant in Texas – the same setup that's carried the Escalade through recent model years.
