We are just two days away from seeing the latest take on a luxury flagship from BMW. The German automaker has just dropped another teaser for the refresh of the current 7 Series, along with a reveal date. The big BMW will keep its big Chiclets face, but it will be getting some new fancy lighting to go with it, and those are just the beginnings of the changes. Just Two Days From A New 7 This is the second, and most likely final, teaser for the new BMW 7 Series. The first one came in early March and showed a massive illuminated grille along with the accent light eyebrows. This image shows more of the same, but it adds a sparkling animation to the lights, which will be new for the facelifted model.BMW also announced the reveal date. The new 7 will arrive on April 22, which corresponds with the opening of the Beijing Auto Show. That show is expected to be the largest auto show in the world, with hundreds of debuts of one form or another from various automakers. From what we've seen in recent spy shots, the car's exterior isn't going to change much at all. That doesn't mean it won't have improvements, though, as styling can be misleading. Just look at the 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the 7's arch rival. Its refresh looked almost identical, but Benz called it the largest refresh in the model's history. It even came with new engines. The new 7 could get new engines as well. There are some rumors floating around, as well as some things that are confirmed. The rumor is that an updated version of the current S68 V8 used in the X5 M and others will create a replacement for the old M760Li. The i7 EV will get battery tech from Rimac which should deliver improved range and performance. Alpina Will Return To The 7 BMW BMW has also confirmed that the Alpina 7 Series model will be back. BMW's now in-house special arm turns the company's vehicles into even more luxurious high-speed cruisers instead of sharp and track-ready M models. The last B7 ended production in 2022, but it's not clear when exactly it will find its way back into the fold.Still, expect the most significant changes to the new 7 to be inside. For a start, it will get the brand's new Panoramic iDrive system including the full-width display along the base of the windshield. The concept for this was revealed in 2025, and since then it has arrived in the iX3 and should be in every BMW in the next few years. We've already seen it present in spy photos of the 7 undergoing testing.Adding that system will need a complete rework of the dash. At the same time, there should be some updates to bring the rest of the car's tech up-to-the-minute. Some changes to make the seats even more comfortable for long distance cruising are also likely.BMW will reveal the new 7 on April 22. We don't know if that will include gas and electric or just gas, butCarBuzzwill have all the details as soon as they are available.
